    Why I built this app

    These days, more and more companies are asking employees to return to the office at least 2 or 3 days a week. Some have even made it mandatory, tying it to performance ratings or bonuses.

    I’m one of them.

    At first, I tried to keep track manually counting total working days in a month, subtracting weekends, holidays, and leaves, then calculating what 50% of that would be. I used Excel, a calculator, notes whatever I had. It worked ,but it was tedious. Every month I’d forget to update something, or miss a day, and my numbers would be off.

    That’s what gave me the idea to build Hybrid Office Tracker.

    The app automatically logs when I’m at the office it marks those days as “Office,” and if it doesn’t detect me there by midnight, it counts that day as “WFH.” It handles weekends, holidays, and leaves automatically, and even if I don’t open it for weeks, it still keeps track quietly in the background.

    Now I can see exactly how many office days I’ve done, how close I am to my target (like 50%), and get clean monthly or yearly summaries no spreadsheets, no manual entries, no stress.

    It’s a small app, but it’s made this whole hybrid tracking thing way easier and it respects privacy too, since everything stays on your device.

      Does your employer mandate an average number of days in the office over an annual period? And if they're measuring it, why can't they just provide the data?

      I'm seriously flabbergasted, I have a RTO mandate, I show up 3 days a week. If I don't show up 3 days a certain week, it doesn't carry over. If there's holidays everyone just takes a guess, no one is going to get fired for only being in the office 58% of work days over a 12 month period.

        Completely agree on that , I cant name the organisation but one of the big 4 bank already had this mandate and emailed out employees on the same measure and impact on bonuses and ratings.

        Yes it is mandate from employer and they wont share data until end of quarter, unless you fall below what ever the mandate is , so as a employee you wont know how many you have done thats where it come handy.

        Anyway not to deviate much. Its free app nothing I get out of it .So if people use what I built and useful to them and it makes me happy.
