I'm a pork eater and I can confirm they did not exclude me.

        • -4

They can serve pork without excluding HALAL eaters too…

@jv: Tell me you don't know how halal works, without telling me you don't know how halal works.

A halal certified eatery shouldn't even have pork and alcohol on premise to avoid cross contamination. It's how vegan meal preps can't use the same utensils used to prepare meat.

Non vegan restaurants often cater for vegans…

There are lots of places that serve halal meals and non-halal meals…

Anyway, my comment is referring to their claim "because everyone deserves a seat at the table."

Clearly they have their 'own' definition of 'everyone'…

              • @jv: I didn't know there are people out there who only eat pork.

@brotherfranciz: Vegetarians, vegans, pescetarians, porchettists, pollotarians….

    ⚠️ Soup base charged separately.

Can we ask for no soup base? Just hot water?

    • Oof. That's legit ruined it for me. I buy these sorts of deals so I can walk in with zero dollars in my pocket, and leave happily. Hate this sort of thing, the soup is kind of needed.

    • -1

      Haha, soup base is $5

    • +1

Never thought of doing that. Will try the next time I go.

The shops called running pot, surely they'll provide a pot? And there are soup bases being sent through the conveyor anyway. So you just won't have a flavour.

Forgot to tick the associated box?

    • -3

      Are they associated?

      How can you tell?

      • Not associated, we ate there tonight and noticed the advert

I used chat gpt to pull the details out of there instagram image

      • "How can you tell"

        I can't tell, hence the ?

Sign of business cash flow dries up. Buy more and save more, next thing you know shop closes down overnight, and you still have 9 unused voucher. Stop this scam and give some genuine discount if you want to ‘celebrate’.

    • I've been to running pot probably 4 times? And I've had to line up with minimum 30 mins wait each time except once when I went on weekday at 2pm.

There is no booking available but imo the food is always fresh with a lot of variety across beef, chicken, lamb vegetable and even their already cooked food.

They are also in a very popular location along Glen Waverley Kingsway competing with probably 20+ other restaurants.

I don't see it as a sign when it is common for stores to discount/give out vouchers during their store anniversary.

      • +2

That’s my argument. If the shop wants to celebrate and give back to customers, how about some honest and straightforward discount, instead of this buy more save more tactics in the name of “gives you more value every time you dine”. You’d be dinning 10 times to be able to get more values, which to me looks more like a quick money grab.

And, if their business is good like you described, why make a promotion anyway? It doesn’t need a genius to figure out the sign is that the owner needs money else where either expanding or for other business. So instead of talking to the bank, the owner decided to fund raising from customers. Basically shift the risk from themself to “hotpot lovers”.

  • Buy 10 Get 1 FREE — Only $299 (save $82.70)…. what sort of math is that

    If 11 = $299 … how to save $82.70 ? and if 20 = $598 and save $200.10 !?!?!?

    For 11 you get 1 free, at most saved $29.9, while 20 you save $29.9 x 3 = $89.7.

    • Because one free drink (valued at $4.80) is included. Usually you have to pay for drinks separately.

  • It’s because you get a free drink, normally that’s extra

    • -1

What kind of drink? Beer ?
