Seriously check on Amazon the price of 2025 MacBook Air 13-inch Laptop with M4 chip.
On amazon.com it is US $749.99 which is converted to $1,151.70
On amazon.com.au it is AUD $1597
And I thought US has tariffs, how, just how.

OK, Sales Tax I sort of missed, but it is state based, so not all states have it.
Yes, that is my point, why is is Apple not giving this 25% discount worldwide.
why is is Apple not giving this 25% discount worldwide
It's not Apple giving the discount, it's Amazon US. Best Buy (and many other retailers in the US) do sales on Apple products all the time, they are the ones who bear the cost. In fact, this is not even an all-time low price for the MacBook Air in the US. Apple products have notoriously slim margins for retailers and there is less competition in Australia which is partly why you do not see these sales here.
The closest thing you will see to a 'sale' from Apple directly is either the free AirPods deal for back to school/uni in Jan/Feb every year or the free gift card for Black Friday (but that offer is only usually for older products eg. 16e/SE, nothing new or high end)
Apple aren’t even giving this 25% discount on the US Apple page.
Expecting global alignment of discounts on third party sites is bonkers, that’s why.
Plus sales tax. Plus GST. Plus import tax if you try and ship it to Aus.
Plus you will not get Australian consumer protection if it fails.
But sure. Really cheap in the US. Please buy some and bring them to Aus and let us know how you get on.
It's on sale for 25% off.
At usual price it is about the same.
Is your point apple/Amazon don't offer good discounts here?
Yes. I have never seen Apple sales before.
Keep in mind that you will not have any Australian Consumer Law coverage for a product purchased overseas and so you will be SOL after the 1 year Apple manufacturer warranty expires. This is especially pertinent given we are talking about a laptop here (which one would expect to keep and use for many many years)
Also the US version obviously comes with a US wall plug
It''s one 30W USB charger. What could it cost? $10?
I wouldn't trust my computer to a $10 charger.
Amazon US often have sales like this on Apple. I doubt Amazon US would let you buy it and ship it to Australia.
Also don't forget the US price doesn't include sales tax or GST and import duties for Australia.
Can you please share the link?
If u into market for a macbook then purchase that one as its cheaper to get it in US dollars. And let us know if any charges.
