These should not be high tech machines!

I bought the bunnings one around 4 months ago and hasn't missed a beat. And I thought even for what it is, it's overpriced.

    Bunnings link FYI: https://www.bunnings.com.au/backyard-living-70cm-blue-roboti…

    • Are they worth it vs just using a scoop?

      • For me, I could justify it.

I got a lot of trees around, and generally did a quick scoop before leaving work. Then another after dinner.

Here I take it out twice a week, give the tray a spray and call it a day.

Call it 20 minutes a day. That's almost 120 hours a year, 2 year warranty, so good for 240.

        400/240 = $1.67/hour being super super conservative.

I'll pay that to be lazy. Your rate & cut off might be different.

But this thing does it longer, and pool is looking better for it, with significantly less work.

  • How good is the wifi signal under the pool to make it work under water?

      It floats on top.

  • First check out reviews from users who have had these for a bit of time. Issues with bearings as well as propeller failing.

    Of course YMMV

  • I picked one of these up slightly cheaper during their Halloween sale and have had it in the pool 24/7 since.
Our pool cops a lot of gum leaves and pollen. Before I would have to empty the pool's filter sock every 2nd day as it'd be full to the brim and also manually scooping with a net. Now I can empty that once a week and it's only half full.
The surfer I have to empty every 2nd day as the basket is full but it's nice to catch all the crap on the surface before it has too much time to sink to the floor. The bottom of my pool is much cleaner and the top stays relatively clean, even during the high winds the other day.

I didn't check measurements but I was surprised how big the unit actually was!
