280

Was keeping an eye out for a Dewalt compact blower and saw this deal at my local Bunnings (No more at Bethania anymore) Online link doesn't mention the bag but see attached photo of what was in my cart.

PC Part Picker I mean Seperately they sell for:
Blower - $139
5Ah Battery & Charger - $229
or 5Ah Battery by itself - $149 / Charger $164

Needed* a Blower & 5Ah Battery so charger and bag only sweetened the deal. Worth checking in stock for the similar kit.

The bag I have looks something like this - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008392416971.html?src=go…

Not ATL but company went into administration $169.15 - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/853408

26 posts in, surely you would be familiar with these by now…

    • It's true, I spent too long on the post without checking title

I use this for sucking the air out of vacuum bags, inflating air beds, deflating air beds and blowing air in to start a campfire. Pretty handy

    • I didn't know this can be used as a deflator

      • This is the pretty standard workshop blower design - the attachments are designed to fit into the side intake.

FWIW for the vacuum bag use case I ended up swapping out a powered tool for the basic foot pump as we got a little sick of the vacuum screech for such a small job lol

if you just want the blower, price beat amazon listing @ bunnings comes to $107.1, most you will get reselling the battery/charger is $100

    • Last month I tried to ask Bunnings to price beat Amazon for a Dewalt tool, and they rejected. The store manager said they won't price beat/match Amazon & eBay :-|

        Can be hit n miss, here’s s
One at $121 if Amazon doesn’t work

Go price beating with the lowest expectation in mind. Avoid high hope as it could be embarrassing for both. Only do it when you need something else there. Save both time and effort. Possibly make a call or send an email to check. Live chat also works too? The staff is happy to reply.

  • I'm trying very hard not to buy the 54v monster for uhh 'effect'

    • I bought one 2 weeks ago. It could move pebbles off paved areas.
Not sure what you meant in "uhh effect".

      • The big brother models seem to move a lot of air.

Given this little one (which I own) suffices for shifting leaves in my garden, I figure the big one would be fun overkill.

Wait until the next DeWalt 'spend and get' promo, likely to be one in the next couple of weeks.

    Buy this kit: https://www.bunnings.com.au/dewalt-18v-5ah-xr-li-ion-brushle…
and get a pack of qualifying impact driver bits for a couple dollars.

    Get the blower on redemption.

End up with a decent drill, battery, charger, blower and a $50 Bunnings voucher you'll definitely use, all for $250-ish.

    • how is everyone's experience with the redemption program? Normally, how much time does it take them to finalise? I submitted a redemption form 2 weeks ago, and there have been no updates from Dewalt yet, other than the submission confirmation.

      • +1

Several weeks for me, so long I actually forgot about it, but it did arrive eventually.

      • +1

My only Dewalt redemption was a few weeks back and only took 2 weeks to arrive. After claiming I heard nothing further and it just turned up one day.

      • +1

Last one took about 8 weeks.
If you're waiting longer than a month, give them a call - they're a really friendly and helpful bunch of service staff.
