Was looking at picking this up as I was just about to start playing the base game thanks to the Extra Catalogue and have gotten pretty lucky timing. The Ultimate Edition is unfortunately not on sale on the PlayStation store.

  • Got a switch 2 price?

    • Pretty sure the Switch 2 only has the Ultimate Edition which is currently $120.

      • How's the Switch 2 port? Playable?

        • +1

Switch2 30 fps on quality mode (1080p docked and 720p/1080p handheld)

40fps on performance (1080p docked and 720p handheld.

          Switch 2 crosssave compatible

I played it on PS5 and am currently playing on Switch 2 (was $70 on the eshop a few weeks ago). There are a few dips in handheld performance mode, but its overall pretty good. Biggest noticeable cutback is hair, which looks real rough on the Switch, otherwise plays well.

          • @witheredcouch: I have it on PC but thinking if I should get it on PS5 or Switch 2. Wanna get either one for handheld and I also have a PS portal. PS portal might lag but Switch 2 is lower frame rate. Not sure which one to get.

    Thanks Choom

  • So, completely unrelated, but I purchased Cyberpunk 2077 at launch for the PC. Obviously, it was in a messy state with lots of bugs, etc. Since then, the developers have seemingly improved things and everyone has started raving about how amazing it is. However, I loaded my old save game and just mucked around for a little bit, but the environment just seemed… lifeless. I realise the NPCs have their scripted routines, etc. but compared to other games like GTA V, it feels like they're all just set dressing rather than NPCs going about their digital lives. What am I missing?

start a fresh game it’s amazing

    • I wouldn't rave about the base game either, I found it to be underwhelming in a way that couldn't be bug-fixed, but Phantom Liberty was excellent IMO. Easily the best part of the game, in my books.

  • Anyone know if this is ATL for phantom liberty on ps5?

    • +1

      Dekudeals says it’s an ATL

  • Has anyone been experimenting with mods to get the ultra-realistic look? What works the best?

  • I have this game on PC and I like it a lot, but I uninstalled it a few months ago because there were just so many bugs, usually NPC's malfunctioning and breaking immersion, but the worst thing is when the malfunctioning NPC's prevented me from completing missions.

I appreciate that they are still adding features and fixing some stuff, but for me, unless they address the many bugs and glitches that still remain with NPC's (and just general weird and dumb behaviour), they are neglecting something that undermines the user experience way too much.

Anyone else who plays this, experience these kind of bugs and frustration?

FYI: I have not modded the game, so these issues are happening on a vanilla install.

    • Don't let it put you off Witcher 3 though. And don't let Witcher 3 make you think 1 or 2 is any good. My theory is Witcher 3 accidentally came out one of the greatest of all time. The direction and production just accidentally came out so good, like when you make pancakes and sometimes the batch comes out perfect and you can never make them that good again because you don't know what was different.

Based on your theory, I can only assume you spent like an hour in 1 & 2. Because as someone that finished both of them prior to W3, it was very clear how it came to be the game that it is. W2 is still the best story of the trilogy IMO. It was also my entry to the series, so I have a soft spot for it.

        • Yes a few hours in each. They are decent games sure, but they aren't great, they aren't much alike to 3.

          • @AustriaBargain: A substantially larger budget definitely helped make 3 what it is. To this day W3 was the most anticipated I've been for a game alongside maybe RDR2. My expectations/hopes were that it would be like W2 but open world with higher production values and that's exactly what I got.

100% the feels I got from the opening sequence of Witcher 2 and then the amazing different playthroughs based on choice. Witcher 2 was easily the best story. The ciri chase part of Witcher 3 isn’t the most thrilling in terms of plot pacing

      • @AustriaBargain

I have Witcher 3, sadly like so many other games I own, I haven't played it yet. But I do intend to one day, as it does look good. It's nice to know it's not full of bugs like Cyber Punk 👍 That would be a horrible thing to discover once I finally start playing it !

    • The game is great, playing it now. There's still a few annoying bugs on xsx, but there minor and usually fixed by quitting/loading back up.

      Playing on performance

  • Complete edition usually sells for 50$ in ps store

    • Never ever below $60.
