This is a very good price.
Purchased mine for ~$135 from TGG Commercial about 18 months ago. Very good speaker. Much better than any other model/brand in the sub <$200 range (spend the extra on the 6 for minor upgrades).
Got mine almost 4 years ago was $158 or so, had only got into bluetooth speakers a month before that (a mini hand held version with Batman theme). Love it, even though its seen better days today. With my usage pattern I normally charged it every 3-4 weeks… the last year it's only lasting 5ish hours before I beed to charge it again.
Very happy with the sound for such a small speaker it punxhes above its weight (like Hulk Hogan body slamming Andre the Giant). Can only imagine how pumping their larger speakers are.
Would this be an improvement over my ancient Bose Soundlink Mini?
I'd wager yeah. I've always found JBL's sound a bit too bassy and muddy (is that the right word?). But the battery life's pretty amazing and it is still portable. No microphone though, if that's something you need.
I have a Bose sound link mini 2 and the charge 5. The charge five is much larger and louder. Better for larger rooms and louder requirements. The mini is great for bedrooms.
I would get the charge 5 if I had to buy one again between the two
Teal seems to have increased in price. Some other colours still the reduced price. Would buy one if I didn't have so many speakers already.

Not very happy with mine. It's mono so it sounds quite narrow. Bass and battery life are pretty good though. Charge 6 available at ~$150 from TGG Commercial from memory.
JBL Flip has a wider soundstage.
All colours back to full price now
Grabbed the blue one, been using a flip 4 for about 8 years now so time for a small upgrade.
That upgrade will be better and more noticeable than you think.
Better clarity, bass, and volume. Longer battery life too.

I loved mine so much I got a second to try out the stereo mode. Works well, but any two compatible speakers with party boostbtogether already sound good without official stereo, definately louder outdoors.

At least it's USB-C charging. Supplied with a USB-A to USB-C cable. Optimal charging via 5V at 3A (15W), 4 hrs to full charge.

This has a direct connect via usb feature which is very handy for a PC without bluetooth. You have to hold two buttons to reset it into that mode but works well once done.

Bought the new model Charge 6 for $157 at TG. This price is very good for the Charge 5.
