TomTom Android App Now $32.99

110

For those people who are after the TomTom app on android, it's now down to $32.99. It launched at $51.99 (which was frankly too high, given the availability of Google Maps and alternatives like Metroview and Navigon).

However, if you come from a standalone GPS or a iPhone background, you might like a familiar interface. In that case, the price drop is good news

TomTom US is down to $22.99 too - useful for travelers to the US who don't have a data plan.

Sygic is cheaper and have better reviews and more features as speed cameras. Anyway, free google solution that now has offline maps makes an outstanding option.

TomTom will need to reconsider pricing strategy even further.

I wouldn't mind something like this, just a bit too much $ for an app.

  • Anyone know how much the traffic subscription costs? I don't want to have to buy the app to find out…

I reckon the current google navigation system is quite good, and google maps is useful for quickly looking up somewhere.

Would it be made to 3.xx($) few might buy it, however, 'droid based nav has bases covered.

  • I would have given this a try if it wasn't limited to Android devices with a 800 x 480 and 1280 x 800 screen resolution and also added support for safety cameras.
