Tamron AF 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 XR Di II Lens (DX) (~ $186 Delivered) 1 Day Only

40

Seems like a pretty excellent deal if you're looking for a lens to suit most purposes - wide to telephoto.

This is obviously not professional quality, but would be great for something like a present for someone who is just starting to get into photography and wants to move away from the kit lens.

Please note:
+$22.97 if you're looking for a Canon mount

Also, there's no image stabilisation (which would be why it's so cheap, so at the 150mm+ end, you will want to be using a tripod).

At first I thought this was a coffee cup….

  • I heard Sigma 18-200 is better than Tamron :s any one ?

  • Hi guys I am new to SLR cameras and recently bought the Pentax K-r that was listed on Ozb from Leederville camerahouse in Perth. Would this lens suit that camera as the camera only came with one that suits shortish distances.(I think it was 18-50mm)

    • I don't think this lens will give you any better IQ compared to your current kit lens, so only buy it if you need the extra reach.

    • This one's only for canon or nikon mount. so…

    • The above lens is for Nikon and Canon
your camera needs a K mount
      this lens is for pentax
      http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/astore/Tamron-AF-18-200m…
you can choose mount you want
look around not saying this is the best deal though
if you have the 18-55 DAL
and you are looking for a good cheappie
get the Pentax 55-300 DAL just over the $200 mark

  • pity it will not be delivered in time for the Grand Prix.

    • this lens won't help much in case you want to shoot telephoto at F1 anyway…

  • No Sony a mount… dang

  • i had these lens a few years ago when i first started shooting SLR cameras. this is a cheap lens but its useless past 100mm. the resultant image is hazy and soft, even when its bright enough for you to shoot at f/6.3.

  • Thanks OP. seems like a good deal for a jackofalltrades
