Has anyone purchased Hertz mystery car deal before? If so what car did you get?
We are hiring a car in Cairns and the option we have included was the mystery car deal.
By the way if anyone curious about the mystery deal:
we also booked 2 nights mystery deal in Port Douglas and we got The Sheraton Mirrage ($130/nt through last minute.com) and the mystery deal in Cairns- Mercure Hotel ($94/ nt through Wotif).
We have 2 lots of car rental in Cairns, 1days and 3 days. We will take a risk with the 1 day rental and see what we get.

I got a Kia sedan (I think it was a Cerato). Probably because it was the least preferred.
Kia sedan is it too bad.
My only worry is getting either a van or a ute.
They wouldn't do that. It would be a sedan.

we got a Camry .. Booked through hertz mystery deal
We search through Hertz web page today to book for another 3 days car hire in Cairns but there was no Mystery deal. My guessed is the mystery deal is for 1 day car hire.
We found that Hertz seems to be the cheapest ($127/3days) compare to Avis ($148).
I was curious so I searched a bit. Seems that people's experiences are that you get vehicles that they have a hard time renting out, probably prestige vehicles or specialty vehicles. Probably a good deal unless you are worried about petrol costs.
