Apple warranty may not be covered in Australia, as it's from HK..

Please retract that the warranty is covered by Apple, as it's not guaranteed.

The emphasis here being on the word MAY. I would assume this is on a somewhat case by case basis. I don't think your neg vote here is valid; regardless you are getting warranty. If something did go wrong within 12 months, first you try Apple for warranty service, and if they wont help you then you go to Unique Mobiles for help. You aren't going to know for certain until you give it a go; and thats if something even goes wrong at all…

unless someone with grey import can share their story of claiming warranty in australia and got rejected, i think apple is just too rich to reject a claim for its flagship product. they just more care about name reputation than a mere $300 (their cost) maybe less

I can confirm that there is no in-warranty repair/replacement, and no out of warranty replacement, from Apple Australia, for Hong Kong sourced iPhones.
The IMEI number reveals from which market the iPhone came.
Apple Australia will attempt to assist with any problem, but that is all.
