iMessage on Kogan Mobile

Hi friends,

i recently switched to Kogan mobile.

Just having trouble activating imessage on my iphone 4s.

Its stuck on Waiting for activation.

I also got $15 bolt on credit so sending international sms for activation shouldn't be a problem.

If you know how to fix this issue please reply.

Thank you.

  • Just use whatsapp - way better and not tied to a particular brand of phone

Hop back on board your ridiculous pony.

Whatsapp and iMessage are not a bolt off / bolt on replacement for each other.

If I have to explain why you have probably never used iMessage.

Sorry OP, I don't know how to fix your problem.

Here's a couple of possible solutions.

What is so good about imessage? Not many recent articles on it.

OP: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3394560?start=15&tstart… It might work for you.

That zimbio 'article' must have been written by a 5 year old.

        • Any other recent one? I don't get what's so great about imessage.

        • iMessage from you mac computer/iphone/ipod/iphone to friends on their macs/iphones/ipod/iphones, send and receive video, txt, pics, files, small programs, between all devices via either data on your mobile plan or via your LAN/WIFI (or other peoples wifi).
Its great! I txt my freinds in australia and overseas and send and receive pics and video on the odd program, and it doesnt cost me a thing! (I already pay for unlimited internet)
No need for whatsapp/third party stuff… Well actually, if you do have that odd (jokes) friend who has an android, both of you should install "Viber" its free and you both can use data to chat between platforms for free, but not from your computers (unlike iMessage)

So apart from using it on a mac, it's the same as whatsapp. Unless everyone you know is using imessage, I guess you're very likely to be using whatsapp/viber as well.

        • Yep that about sums it up! I use imessage plus viber for the people who dont use it.

        • Mightytext is the Android version of iMessage and has great reviews.

    • OP asked specifically about iMessage. Please keep the discussion on topic. I am now marking this sub-thread as Off-Topic.

  • Make sure timezone is carrier/autodetect. Disable iMessage. Turn it back on again. It needs to send an outgoing SMS to work as part of activation (validates number). So make sure you can send SMS (might need to ensure carrier settings are updated, best way to do this is plug your phone into iTunes). Also helps to sign in and out of the iMessage account.

Ironically, all advice given now that I have a Nexus.

  • thanks all for replying.

i still am unable to get imessage working with my cell number however i got it working using my email. which is good enough for me.

    thanks again.

  • iMessage can be tricky. I had problems going from iPhone to Android ie my Android wouldn't get SMS's they were still going to iPhone even though the Sim card was in the Android, the solution was to put the card back in the iphone and deactivate iMessage and then remove sim card.
