Was browsing after buying the awesome CB deal (seriously - amazing price, best in oz for comparable gear too) earlier and found this

    Dealextreme have quite a few unbranded usb wifi n adaptors, some are rated 300Mbps too.
    Just pick the one with good price/good reviews.

      I've had enough crap service from the billion zyxel wireless g models for years, to mess with cheap n nasty models. Just my experience. For 19-ish dollars I can get the tiny wireless n in a brand name. Decision made, for me. As always with pulling signal out of the air, ymmv.

      well come back tomorrow and get one (like the post above yours says), or maybe you could email them - they are very nice in my experience, tho they know lots of people do want them.
      Much better they do this and make sure they have stock than run out and cancel look so many supposedly reputable retailers.

      There is a difference between a generic ebay unit so generic that there are 2 completely different pictures on the listing, and a well known brand name unit from a respected brand.
      So sorry friend, but i don't think you did find 'it'.

      If what somebody wants is the cheapest possible 802.11n adapter and cares it is listed as posted in Australia, that is indeed the cheapest such on ebay, although it would worry me that 2% of their feedback is not positive, and there are a number of allegations that they are sending from china, with commensurate postage times.
      Otherwise, there are far cheaper such generic units from overseas for those willing to wait :)

    LOL - This is NOT wireless N…

    Even the Buffalo website is showing it as only certified for B/G.

    The only way you will get 150mbps from this device is if you have a 150mbps N150 Router (Which is not Wireless N)

    Do not confuse this with N150 because N150 is NOT Wireless N.

    You will know for sure if something is true Wireless N if it bears the certified N logo.

    Also - Wireless N starts at 300mbps. Clear giveaway.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.11n-2009 note that a single spacial stream (1 aerial) peaks out at 150Mbps. Note that there are also a number of lower speeds ratified in the n standard.
      You are right insofar ONLY that this is a device from pre-ratification of the standard, What the standard would be was known LONG before the IEEE completed ratification red tape and most of the early (years) N devices were only certified b/g as the N certification did not exist.

      It should work at its full speed with ANY wireless N router from any brand, with 1, 2, 3 or 4 aerials (being in turn 150, 300, 450 and 600mbit devices). Of course you will never get 150mbit throughput, nor will you ever get 300mbit from a 300mbit device, thanks to protocol overheads at the very least.

      so to make it clear
      N150 is wireless N
      it can be ratified/certified as such
      It uses 1 spacial channel and is not MIMO (which is supported though not required), but is still wireless N
      PLENTY of n150 devices are certified as wireless N by the wi-fi alliance

        PLENTY of n150 devices are certified as wireless N by the wi-fi alliance

        Find me ONE device which is N150 that is certified with the N logo. I worked at JB Hifi for 5 years and not one N150 device had the certification. Including this one.

        I know that the device will run at 150mbps max but it's MISLEADING to put "Wireless N" in your TITLE of the deal when the device is clearly not Wireless N. To someone purchasing the device from what's in the title - "Oh goodie N for $7.99" only to receive it and not be able to say…. stream 1080p.
