So the back story here is I'm looking at buying a TV for myself and was looking at Kogan as one of my possible sources.
I just wanted to know does anyone have any experiences in dealing with these people on these higher ticket goods? Are the TV's and monitors of good quality? How are they in terms of warranty issues and customer service?
do any of their tvs support 1:1 pixel mapping? i recall that as being a major gripe
I have 2 Kogan TVs - one 19" and one 42". The 42" was a superduper special (~$330 delivered in early 2012) it arrived DOA - it would flash a Konka logo but do nothing else (bad firmware?) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiHfFfCOvdE if you are interested.
I was overseas while it was all dealt with, which slowed things down some. Kogan arranged for a courier to pick up the TV and send it to a service centre in Brisbane. It sat there for a few weeks (while I was away). When I got back, I questioned it - the service centre was still waiting for parts, but they decided to just sent me a new one which arrived the next day.
The replacement hasn't skipped a beat since.
I've generally had fairly good experience with Kogan - though my opinion factors in very good prices. If the cost is similar, I'd go with a local retailer.
Their monitors look solid - and I'm sure would be easier to deal with warranty issues through Kogan than through a South Korean ebay seller.
I received a 22 inch tv with inbuilt dvd that would not play dvd's.
When I contacted Kogan I was sent a postage paid sticker that I should attach to the box and sent it backat the post office for free. Once they received it they dispatched a brand new one out immediately.
All done in about a week.
I've seen a few TV's of theirs around, they look pretty decent and the picture quality is nice and clear. I can't comment on their monitors though.
Wouldn't have a clue about their warranty procedures, I haven't heard any terrible experiences about them nor any excellent ones, so I guess they're average.
