47 bucks shipping for a pair of earphones. Definitely getting a pair!

for $47 i'm expecting delivery by unicorns who will unbox the earphones and gently place them in my ears by using their mystical horns while i sleep.

        • no, you will get a leprechaun delivering it to you….

        • +1

I'd guess you want a beer brought to you too. :D

        • i want them to play meditating sounds and indulge me in a state of yoga…2 feet off the ground

      • Lol…get 2, it's a bargain.

I'd actually spend the $47 dollars for the insurance on anything over $250.

i will broden this one. look, compare the price with s3

I can justify spending $300 on a pair of really great headphones, but cannot for in ears. I would lose them.

    • ARC are great to deal with also.

  • Pretty average IEM's for the price if you ask me. I have a pair and I'm really not impressed.

Much prefer my Shure SE535's or Audeo PFE232's in the price range.

    • +1

Audeo PFE232 has cheap aesthetics for the price they ask $599, oh soo plastic…

      • most high end IEMs are plastic.

        • I know, but the finish counts especially at such hefty prices, you can tell the difference when you hold a plastic plastic set and a perfectly finished plastic set, see what I mean ? lol ;)

    • Completely depends on your sounds preferences. I have a pair of these and I prefer the coloured signature as compared to the 535s. I haven't heard the PFE232s though. May need to wait for tax return time. ;)

Much better off getting some Westones or Shures. Logitech isn't exactly synonymous with high-end sound quality.

Ahem! I probably sound like an old man now but one needs to look into the history of IEMs.

The commerical IEMs really took off when Jerry Harvey, one of the sound engineers touring with Van Halen decided to build a pair of IEMs after Alex Van Halen because he was having hearing issues with the loud sound being piped out on stange. Once he built an IEM using hearing aids, the rest of the band wanted 'em and eventually Skid Row, who were also touring with Van Halen, ended up buying a few pairs off him.

Jerry started a business called Ultimate Ears…..this was eventually acquired by Logitech. So yes, Logitech do have some credibility in this particular area. Here's a wikipedia link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_Harvey_(inventor)#Ultimate_Ears

Jerry has since spawned a few businesses and sold them off. Westone, who manufactured hearing aids and began mass-producing Jerry's IEMs eventually got into the game themselves. Jerry also served as a consultant to a number of companies resulting in many of them pushing out their own IEMs (If I remember correctly, he helped Shure develop their range but I may be mistaken).

I have my eyes on the JH13 (http://www.jhaudio.com/content/jh13-pro) so am saving up to eventually buy a pair, along with a matching dac+amp combo that is also sold by JHAudio.

        • Excellent post mate!

          +1 interwebz to you

        • Interesting, and I stand corrected on the history. I would argue, though, that UE are probably not the company they used to be, but I could be wrong.

        • TF10s were/are still so popular among a lot of head-fiers; to the extent that it is fairly simple to find reshelling services for TF10s.

I can testify that the pair is so uncomfortable to wear, awkward to put on, not really good at noise-concealing.

    • That is quite surprising considering that:

      1. It is supposed to be one of the most comfortable in the UE line. Also, they have heaps of tips so you can find the right fit.

      2. Awkward to put on. I had a lot of difficulty putting these on initially, now that I'm used to it, I am quite fond of the over ear design. No microphonics.

      3. Noise isolation: IMHO one of the better noise isolation IEMs (that are not deep insertion). I can barely hear anything even when music is not playing. Suggest you play around with the tips to get a proper seal.

      • The UE's do come with a lot of different tips, but so do all IEM's in this price bracket. It's the size of the part that you attach the tip to that is huge. It feels like my ear canal is being stretched every time I wear them. Not a pleasant experience.

Wernt they like 300 dollars during the dick smith sale?

    • Only in some QLD stores apparently.
