Subtotal: 75.47
Coupon discount: -10.00
Shipping cost: 51.98
Total amount: AU$ 117.45

About $30 better than next cheapest (grey) on staticice and about $50 cheaper than Gerry.

I ordered Thurs 28/3 a.m., it was dispatched via Toll couriers 28/3 p.m. and arrived Tues 2/4 p.m.
Not bad given the Easter break.

  • Is this what you called a fixed lens? How is the speed?

  • +1

yes, this is a Prime (fix length) lens, it is Sonys cheapest very much inline with Canon's 50 mm 1.8.

It has auto focus motor. It is only for chropped frame (not for A99 / A850, A950) it equal 75 mm prime lens on a full frame camera.

it perform better than Canon's offering in most tests, use it on 2.0 or 2.2 aperture would give sharpest results for the person in focus. even at 1.8 is useful at centre.

I got this and the 50 mm 1.4, the 50 1.4 has no auto focus motor and it is 150 dollar more but it is full frame, yet its performances is lacking compare to rival.

Any one want to shoot portrayal with APSC camera should pick this up and a flash gun.

    • How do you tell which lens is for APS and which is for full frame?

Neat price but the shipping is extortionate

    • as with all greys you need to look at combined cost. most other greys are 110-120 with 30-40 shipping.
