Felix Solingen Six Piece Knife Set 76% off Via Altitude Points (Now 32,925) Incl Delivery

80

Long time between drinks, but thought that the few people who could take advantage of this offer may want to know about it.

Stumbled on this deal when looking at booking flights (cool story bro). Couldn't pass it up myself, but happy to start a conversation.

Previously 138,100 points, now 32,925 (save 105,175 points). I have never seen a discount so big on the site, but that's just me.

Can't seem to find a price comparison in Oz, but amazon.com has these for $293.50US (so ~$15 AU), down from $494.50. Link: http://www.amazon.com/Felix-Platinum-6-Piece-Stainless-Steel…

Details:
Beautifully displayed, these stunning, handmade Platinum knives have been forged out of molybdenum vanadium steel, and hand finished. The results are high corrosion resistance, perfect balance and a razor sharp edge. A seamless surface with no gaps or joints creates a perfectly hygienic piece. Set includes a 9cm paring knife, 13cm utility knife, 21cm slicer, 20cm bread knife and a 21cm chef’s knife. • So this would be roughly $200 in points.

    (Based on Myer voucher cost)

  • ~140,000 points = ~$800 Myer/DJ vouchers

So that sounded a little steep to start off with as the knives are ~US$300 here: http://www.amazon.com/Felix-Platinum-6-Piece-Stainless-Steel…

    Still a bargain though.

  • +1

i've had a set of these knives for nearly 10 years and i'd recommend them. they're well balanced and hold an edge well

  • +1

I don't care either way about the deal but +1 for the tags

    • agreed.

But I wouldn't buy such a pricey set of knives without holding one in my hand first to see how it feels.

  • Hmmm. So only for people with Altitude points. Not a very big audience

    • My understanding is that Altitude is one of the most popular credit cards in Australia.

  • I know nothing about these knives but a word of caution they dont mention the type of steel used in the description which means it could the same or similar to kmart crap. The handles look nice but unless you read some good reviews dont bother imo.

    • Do you mean this:
"Beautifully displayed, these stunning, handmade Platinum knives have been forged out of molybdenum vanadium steel, and hand finished."

Or is this just marketing fluff?

      • When looking for the type of steel consider the hardness. I could be wrong but it seems this "vanadium steel" is 420H which is quite soft.

  • Great customer rating on amazon..
