Olympus OMD-EM5 12-50mm Water-Resist Kit $967.65 + $100 Shipping (with Insurance)

20

Been looking out for this camera with the 12-50mm lens kit for about a month now. Still selling for ~$1300 at JBHifi. This seems like a good deal. The grand total in the end delivered to VIC is $1068.80 which seems like a pretty good deal! The site also advertises no additional tax when shipping to Australia.

Can you please edit the title?
it is not WATERPROOF, i thought there was an underwater housing bundled with the body.
it is rather water-resistant or weather-proof. neither of which are describe the body/lens being waterproof.
unless I am blind and cannot see the bundled housing, which would make this a killer deal too good to be true

    • Thanks for picking that up

  • Can someone comment on this Deal

Seems good. For an additional $91 odd you get an additional lens.

It's a different lens to the one listed here - not water resistant. So, you're essentially getting 2 cheaper lenses (which together, cost same as this lens anyway). BUT, you are getting Australian stock.

It seems standard price at most Australian shops is $100 more than what OP posted. (RYDA, Digital Camera Warehouse etc). To get an Australian warranty is worth it in my books. If you are able to claim back GST, it will be same price.

And Cazme above seems to have found a great deal - seems better to me than that posted due to same price + aus warranty.

      • Thanks for your reply :)

    • Yep. The 40-150mm you could pick up from someone else for about $150 second hand, maybe $100 if you haggle. Just gotta ask yourself if you want the extra zoom the 40-150mm has. The other thing to consider is that the 12-50mm lens (i.e the one not from RYDA) also has macro mode, in addition to the weather sealing - this is great for those really nice closeups of a 'beetle on a leaf' type pic.
