Well http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/9041 was a hit and im sure lots of people like Tim Tams!! lol

  • +1

nice, can't get enough of Tim Tams

  • -1

These are ~$2 every week if you take a look between Coles and Woolworths. Enough with the Tim Tams 'deals', it's becoming more like advertising for Arnott's.

    • -1

Agreed - sorry for the -ve

      • -2

+1 they are always on special alternating weeks.

  • -1

Yuk @ above haters what if some people dont know about it plus actually they are $2.69 most of the time trust me i shop every second day.

    • -1

McDonald's gives a discount if you purchase a burger, chips and coke as a "meal", should I post about that too?

      A saving of 70c isn't a bargain.

Like I said, these are almost always priced at $2. The reason for that as they are an item that people will specifically get off the lounge for, go to the shop and while they're there buy some milk/bread and whatever else they need (that's where they make the profit).

Tim Tams are basically a loss leader to get people into the store of an evening.

      This is NOT a bargain.

      • -1

Maybe I should get my Foodland catalogue and start posting this week's specials LOL

  • -2

regardless of what the usual price is for a sweet snack like this its a good price. i dont care if you guys have nothing better to do than deny that $1.89 is a good price for a snack.

    • -1

I absolutely agree with you that $1.89 is a great price for what you get. You're preaching the choir WOW, I love Tim Tams and I guess that is why I know they're always this price.

Don't take this as a personal attack, please, but this just isn't noteworthy enough to be on the front page of OzB, Sorry..

  • -1

Big deal, they are often on for this price.

  • +1

I dont know. I work for WW and dont see Timtam at this price often.
yes they are on special every second week or so but not at this price.

  • -1

its like this ok virgin blue $1 flight sales happen alot but nobody criticizes them because theyre frequently cheap!

  • Look at the savings in terms of % and stop yapping for nothing.

    • -1

Ditto. No one is going to go out to just get a pack of Tim Tams with an 80c saving.

But everyone will try to get $1 flights if they can.

  • -1

if you dont think this is a bargain go away lol

    • +1

Calm down, stop getting so upset and voting everyone down, they don't have to like your post.

No way! I'm going to buy a heap and sell them on ebay.

  • +1

    The comments are too funny.
I'm always the first in our household to balk at an 11 cent saving on a sub $2 product

  • +1

Who will buy this sort of chocolate biscuit for Valentine day. If someone does, that guy must be a rejected…

  • -2

yes it was a joke FYI

  • -2

so many bargain snobs here it's not funny

  • +1

Come on guys, I think this is a fair post. If we start to give out negatives for this then we can basically cut out all grocery items. And I don't agree that Tim Tams are on special every second week, and if they were, you'd probably see them posted here more often. We save less than a dollar here and to some people that's not a lot, but how about the domino's voucher codes? we save maybe a few dollars there but you could also say that's next to nothing.

If we cut out all the low priced items we're left with $1 airfares and closing down sales.

    • -1

We have to draw the line somewhere. There are hundreds of deals I could post here from Coles/Woolworths/Franklins/Aldi et al, but I'd honestly like to keep this site for the type of deals that are worth getting excited for.

If people want this to turn into grocery watch, then maybe we need an option to filter categories if they don't interest us.

The airfare deal is a flawed allergy, so please stop using it. Can you honestly tell me that getting something that usually costs $100+ for $1 is even in the same class as getting a $2.69 item for $1.89?

      • +1

It's not in the same category, but that's my point, if we restrict deals to that extent then we will only get bargains posted a few times a month. Why do we keep on posting dominos offers? Because a lot of people like pizza, and there are a lot that like tim tams as well. Given that we can keep on posting dominos deals, I would think something like tim tams would be appropriate given that they're in the same sort of class.

I understand we need to draw some sort of line but the fact is we actually do by voting. If the deal was crap then it would've been voted off the screen by now, but the majority has spoken.

        • -1

"If the deal was crap then it would’ve been voted off the screen by now, but the majority has spoken."

Very good point. I guess this site has gone the way of digg.com: mainstream. My opinion of this site has gone down a notch…bring back the "good old days".

        • -1

Just pointing out, Dominos is not groceries, hence it's not the same thing. And we won't get bargains posted only a few times a month if you ban grocery watch, you will find that 99.9% of the postings here are not groceries.

          • @conebone69: I was implying that they're in the same class mainly because they save you very little money. That was the argument of some of the people providing the -ve votes. If for example, tim tams costed $100 a packet and was brought down to $1 a packet, then it would be a bargain. My argument was that if we restricted our bargains to having that sort of dollar value savings, we probably wouldn't have many posts on ozbargain. (And the $ savings from the bargains must also be a significant % off the original prices, ie. $100 off a $5000 TV wouldn't come under my example)

The bottom line: The Woolies circular should be checked out every week, anyway .. Furthermore, individual stores are advertizing their own specials.

  • +1

YAY Tim Tam! I love this and what a bargain!

  • +1

To be honest, this deal isn't that great (for me at least) but I'm sure there will be people who after seeing this will go to Woolies just to get some of this. Of course it doesn't mean everything on special should be submitted as a deal but I don't think this particular deal deserves a negative. The item might be on special on a regular basis but I'm sure it doesn't go on special at this particular price at the same frequency. It's like the Domino's Pizza deals. Most people don't get overly excited over $5.95 deals but when the price is $4.95 it's different. Why? Not because it's a whopping 100 cents cheaper but because you rarely get it at that price.

    • -1

Personally I only ever get $6.95 Dominos vouchers in my area (5.95 rarely), so OzBargain is the only place I can get $3.95-$4.95 pizza codes. Whereas I get the same Woolies catalogue as everyone else in Australia does. I'd just think anyone who gets excited about cheap biscuits would already be checking their letterbox catalogues anyway, so it's just doubling up having it in here.

  • Tim Tams are available at Woolworths for $1.99.
    Check the catalogue.
