One Big Switch

Has anyone taken or switched their health insurance to One Big Switch (ahm - which is owned by Medibank). I got a quote for family cover + lifestyle extra from them and it will cost me less than what I am paying at the moment plus additional extra cover.

I have done a bit of research on the Internet but a lot of people are very skeptical with some branding it as a scam.

Any comments/suggestions/experience?

  • i remember this has been discussed recently

  • One big switch get paid $800 for each AHM plan from medibank.
    Food for thought.

  • I had a quick look and to be honest, my current plan still provided better options at almost $40 per month cheaper than what the One Big Switch was offering. (My current provider is DefenceHealth).

    • I also did a quote and I would be out of pocket $20 a month and lose some extras cover by going with this provider.
      I'm currently with NIB.

      • Interesting. I am currently with Medibank and found Ahm to be cheaper with extra benefits. Yes, i know they got paid but my rate will be 10% cheaper compared to if i go straight to ahm. They also confirm this discount is ongoing for the life of the policy
Maybe it is similar to mortgage broker where they got paid by banks and yet customers still have the same rate
