Ohh you configured vpn in the router, I never had an issue with using VPN but never configured VPN in the router

I'm not really sure if it is a good deal compared to something like Deco XE75 pro (currently $749 on Amazon, but it goes as low as $600).

I never tried those, but that said mousepad has anti-slip pads underneath so a slight bump on the pad would not move it.
