Keep in mind the Gen 9 is a 16". The appeal, to me at least, of the Gen 8 is the size and weight.

Not my experience at all, they were really good with a failed switch and provided a refund as it was taking too long to be replaced.

Generally, they would be used as rear speakers in combination with a Sonos soundbar and subwoofer.
