    What does the free ID Protection do?

    I signed up for this deal last month and I thought checking that option would hide my personal details in a Whois lookup, but it's all still there for the world to see.

      Hi, generally when you register a domain all your registration details are available for the public to see, ID protection allows anonymous domain registrations.

        What does "anonymous domain registration" mean exactly? That I don't need to supply my contact details when registering a domain name?

        I'm interested in registering a new domain name with you, and would like to find out whether you offer Whois/domain privacy (ie what kamoi said, hide my details in a Whois lokoup) - how much do you charge for this? Or is it included in the domain name registration fee?

        (And to be clear, this is for a .com domain.)

      We generally don't sell dedicated IPs, but we could sort one out for $30/yr

    Was told by their rep "Ben"

    The system was unable to allocate a slot on our server because it appears your DNS details already exist in our DNS cluster.

    What this most likely means is you have your DNS info hosted with VentraIP or Zuver. We use the same data centre as them. You must delete all entries of the domain from them before continuing.

    I use neither but I use rimits currently, it looks like I cannot work on a new website unless I make my previous one that I have paid hosting for already for around another month unusable. Pretty inconvenient, it's something to consider.
