Nice price for the remote. I loves the old universal one, but they were not available anymore so had to "settle" for this unit, and am happy with it.

    • +2

I still have a Harmony One and also picked up the Touch about a year ago for about $170 to try out the newer one. I think that the old "Harmony One" was still the best remote I ever had, but once you get used to the Touch it is an OK remote (I guess it comes down to what you are used to using), and this price is wonderful.. Wanted to get another as a spare but the boss (Wife) told me that I better not, she hates the Touch we have and hopes that Logitech go back to something like the Harmony One (That will never happen).

      Great work OP

  • code "YAY15" is not valid.

    • +1

      Worked for me :)

      • I had to do mine without logging into my DSE account. If u login before checkout it removes the discount with that message.

You can link the order to your account after its been processed.

Got it as backup for when the kids finally destroy my ONE. Its holding up surprisingly well though, except had to replace the battery because it went puffy.

  • +3

    Looks nice but unfavorable reviews.

    • Unfavourable reviews are based on layout. If you're used to up, down, left, right, ok, menu and guide this is a great remote. Usually they're mapped to ff 'rw pause/play anyway so you don't need the top buttons.

    • I got one for $99 from last COTD deal to replace my failing Harmony 525.
At first I hated the fact that it didn't have as many hard buttons but I got used to it now. Just bought another one to replace another failing Harmony 525 (stuffed channel +/- buttons) in kids room.

  • how do these program to other ir devices?

    • Just like any other Harmony - using online database (Harmony software) or learning via built in IR port for original remote.

  • +1

    worked for me…ordered.

  • I've been spewing that I skipped this when it was $99 on COTD. Thanks for posting! Purchased one and the code worked fine. It'll go nicely with my existing Smart Control setup.

  • Shopbot shows the price ranges from $149 (DSE) to $239… so $84 is bloody good!!
bought one… checkout as a guest apply code and login if you are having issues

    http://www.shopbot.com.au/pp-logitech-harmony-touch-price-40…

  • Insanely good remote! This is 99% the same as the Harmony Ultimate remote.

    • Not quite 99%.
I got the ultimate primarily because it uses RF and then IR Blasters.

My Plasma pisses off the IR too much so its not that responsive. Also with RF it is so much more responsive.
Once you switched to RF you won't go back to plain old IR.

Even RF to IR (Ultimate) feels heaps more responsive than plain IR.

The Harmony Touch is a good remote, as long as you get used to the button placements. All Harmony's are pretty good remotes, except for the 1100. lol.

Dick smith are my favourite at the moment…

    deliveries usually in 2 days

  • If I didn't already have a Harmony One, I would jump on this deal.

    • +1

I got the one also , but for the Money happy to keep in the cupboard when the one starts playing up

      • +1

        Ok, you convinced me :)

  • Code works if your are NOT logged in..Just used it

  • Code worked ok for me while logged in.

    Thanks OP.

  • +2

I just purchased one for no reason lol. Ozbargains fault yet again :)

  • Price is good, but reviews are bad… I agree with the reviews point that play pause buttons shouldnt be at the top, hard to reach.

  • Good timing - some of my old Harmony's buttons are on the way out, plus I've just setup a new HTPC but wasn't able to add any more devices to the old Harmony (max 5). This one handles up to 15 which should be enough. So I grabbed one of these at this price.
    Thanks OP.

  • I have about 6 remotes that it can replace. (TV,bluray,foxtel,amp,apple tv,htpc)
Hopefully it works with all of them :)

  • Got one as backup incase ultimate one dies. Then I pair the hub to this one. Haha

  • Do the batteries regularly come loose on these like the cheaper model and reset and force you to go through the wizard again and again and again.

    • Not ever for me.

  • Thanks. Got myself one.

Good price.. been looking to get a 650 to replace my 525 that the kids have put through its paces (and it lost the battle)

Unsure about the new layout, but can get used to that. However I liked that the 525 used AAA's (and AA's in the 650). I change my rechargeables in it once or twice a year, and with another set handy its always ready to go.

I'm guessing if this one doesn't live in its charger, its not going to last long?
Also, do you have to swipe to access each activity or can you have multiple listed on the one screen?

    • Ah well, in true OzB style, buy first, worry later..
Figured wouldn't get delivered till Monday so clicked and collected. Sales guy was pretty impressed with the price ;)

      BTW, specs claim:
Recharge time: estimated at 4 hours
Discharge time: estimated at 72 hours under normal use
Better get used to putting it in its cradle..

Manual can be grabbed from here if you're new to universals..

      • "Discharge time: estimated at 72 hours under normal use"

Damn, my 700 can go a few weeks.

        • My 525 goes a month or more! Why the hell they stopped making that magnificent model beats me.

        • @soob: I liked the white xbox version also.

        • @soob What batteries do you have in it? Should go a lot longer than that. I changed my 525's batteries no more than twice a year (800mAh LSD's).

      • Well, I don't know what Logitech considers "normal use" but I've had mine off charge since Saturday and battery meter still showing full. Screen and button backlights set at about 1/3 and general use each day, so maybe not so bad after all.

        • +1

BTW, I'd guess about 2 weeks is a more likely discharge time, given its been nearly 1 week so far and the battery meter is at about 2/3 left..

    • Same here, been looking for 650 as replacement for kids' 525.

Mine mainly lives in charging cradle, but has gone for 2-3 days on the table (when wife and kids leave it there).

Just had a look and Activities - 3-4 fit on one screen and then you just scroll up/down using fingers (just like on your mobile). It is probably easier than left and right hard buttons to scroll between activities on 525. However, it will need retraining kids as there are no dedicated "help", "activities" or "devices" hard buttons. Instead you have to use touch screen to access these.
Also, remote is not as quick in blasting IR as 525. But for $84 - it's definitely worth it (just got my second one).

  • +1

Grabbed one to replace my 785 which I threw out 6 months ago after a long and useful life (buttons stopped working). I have been using a wireless keyboard but the simplicity of this will be appreciated.

    • Same here. They are great remotes, but after few years use the volume up button just started playing up.
This deal came at the best time for me. Thanks OP.

  • +2

Hey guys, never had a universal remote.

    Worth getting to combine?
    - Onkyo 525 Receiver
    - Epson EH-TW6000 Projector
    - Foxtel IQ HD Box
    - XBMC HTPC

    What do you think?

    • +2

      Definitely. I use mine with,
      - TV
      - Receiver
      - Windows HTPC
      - PS3
      - Aircon

      • Awesome!
I gave in and bought one :)

  • Dont have a universal report either. But im lazy and want to turn the tv on and onto hdmi connection for chromecast, can i program this to turn tv on and switch to hdmi?

    • yes.

  • Thanks, bought one to replace my broken 650.

  • Got one, TV remote has been failing for a while now, hopefully my TV is listed……

    • You'd be unlucky for it not to be listed.

Worst case is you'd manually learn a few buttons from it before it dies completely.
      - Power
      - Vol + & -
      - Ch + & -
      - Input select

  • My smartphone lg 2 pro has a remote app that acts as a remote. Works alright. Will this logitech work many thimes better. Thanks.

    • Depends on how easy you find your phone to act as a remote, because personally I find it cumbersome.

  • Purchased, thanks OP.

Even got delivery even though DSE is 5 mins away for maximum value

  • The ones in store aren't appealing I checked last week. Thanks OP

  • Like my 700 but will give this sucker a crack. Would prefer either the transport buttons or the Teletext buttons across the middle of the remote but ya can't win 'em all.

  • replacing a harmony one with this. note to anyone buying be careful not to leave it around these screens arent the best, this is mine:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/69gdrp7x1jzacze/2014-09-11%2019.54…

    • Not to leave it around what? Looks pretty bad.

      • any sort of pressure on the screen and that happens. this was a dog paw

        • My toddler sat on mine - screen is stuffed. They are pretty fragile.

  • i want to buy one but worried that cleaver dick may send $84 with of dick smith gift cards saying they are of stock like last time..

    • That is pretty poor. But you can just refuse and get refund pretty quick. They can't legally change your order if you do not agree. I hope….
Now you made me worried, I would love to get the remote.

  • Anyone know if you can pair a second remote to the ultimate smart hub?

    • +1

I believe you can pair it to a ultimate smart hub, however you cannot pair 2 touch screen remotes to it (e.g. Harmony Ultimate + Harmony Touch).

You can however pair 2 remotes to the ultimate smart hub by using the following configuration, Harmony Touch + Harmony Smart Control (non touch screen version).

  • Great. Bought another gadget that I didn't need.

    • I've stopped telling the gf about the crap I've bought.

  • Was really close to buying one of these, but after looking at some youtube reviews I'll be very happy to stick with my Harmony One and Harmony 900. Looks relatively cumbersome to use with most commands hidden behind menu's on the touch screen etc.
Still, a good deal for those that want one.

    • I had the same thoughts as you did when I was researching to buying a Harmony Ultimate, but still decided to buy it. Was pleasantly suprised that it is not as bad as some people make it out to be on Youtube.

After you use it for alittle while it is actually quite easy to use.

  • I was going to get the 650 from the Logitech store for $49 delivered a little while ago but glad I held out. Cheers OP!

  • I got one of these from the deal tonight from dick smiths. Been trying for the last hour to get it set up. Constantly giving me an error and won't work. My other harmony works great but this one seems like a dud. Oh well back to dick smiths in the morning for a refund unfortunately.

    • +4

I had the same problem. The fix was press Alt F9 while the myharmony app is loading and choose update firmware on the harmony touch. If the install button is greyed out remove and reconnect the remote.

      • Hey thanks for this! Mine wasn't responding until I did this firmware update. Cheers.

        • No problems. It was super frustrating to have this brand new remote not working. It took me a bit of googling before I found that, from what I read I lot of people have this same problem with a brand new harmony touch. Lift your game logitech!!

      • Absolute Champion!

I've been googling also and haven't been able to find any help, until now. Thankyou.

was almost about to return mine also.

  • +1

    great price!

  • missed out :(

  • +2

Wow, this is showing as $49 delivered (using code "LOGITECH") in today's Dick Smith email…. but "temporarily out of stock" online :(

    • Dickie being tricky? "Here, Harmony Touch only $1. Temporarily out of stock until end of promotion. Sorry, no rainchecks."

  • +1

$49 would have been an absolute steal. I wonder if they sold out last night during the Yay15 sale?
Pretty unlucky for Dick Smith to have a nation wide email go out advertising a fantastic discount on a product that got Ozbargained the night before.

I thought I'd snagged a bargain until I got the $49 email this morning :-(.

  • Quick everyone.. cancel your orders at $84. Re-purchase at $49!

    • +1

lol. Don't think it really works like that. Cannot guarentee that you will get to reorder it since everybody on Ozbargain is probably hounding that site for stock!

      • I would have gotten away with it, too, if it wasn't for you meddling kids…..

  • LOGITECH Harmony 350© TV Remote Control $29.98 delivered
    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/tv-remote-controls/logitech-harm…

  • tricky dickie i say, must have had 3 units at this price, online out of stock, but plenty in stores at $150.

online customer service won't fulfil despite the usual practice of click and collect orders being purchased online from store stock.

the real dick would never conduct these shady marketing practices.

    • +1

Yep, back to being available for click and collect today at ~$150… poor form DS!

      • Yep, the gool ol' honey pot trick!

  • +6

If anyone has issues setting it up for the first time

    see this:http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Harmony-Remotes/Harmony-Touch-stuck-at-setup/td-p/1291028

-Basically upgrade the FW before it works with the current software.

  • I've got to give Dick Smith customer service a wrap here.

On Friday morning after the $49 email came out, I emailed DS customer service to inquire whether it was possible to get a refund of the difference since it had dropped in price so significantly, and to my surprise over the weekend they forwarded my request to the refunds dept, and the refund was approved today.
    Genuinely surprised.

    • Nice. Guess DSE is gonna get a flood of emails now :)

  • +3

I'm guessing a whole lot of you will be having problems setting up.
This is how I fixed mine: http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Harmony-Remotes/Harmony-Touch-…

    • Yeah need to give that a try

  • Has anyone had the order shipped yet?

    Mine still has processing.

    • +1

Mine came today but I was out. Got to go pickup from po.

      • Thanks for the info.

After contacting DS customer service they told me my order was placed on back order due to no stock.

I arranged to pick one up from a local DS store, so all good now.
