Agreed - it's really bad how you have to use the apple headphones, or spend another $20-30 on an aftermarket control…
Have to agree that shuffle really brought new and innovative way of control your media player but doesnt mean it would work though.
and agreed, earphone sounds a bit sad.

I just bought Video2Go (4GB) at ALDI that was reduced by 50% on the weekend. For 24.95, it is quite cool and plays videos as well. Apart from the IPOD name, I am not sure if this is worth 4 times the price for something that does not even do what my 24.95 does.
Agreed. The fact the shuffle has no screen puts me off it altogether.
sounds like you're missing the point of a shuffle however. in a better world i'd have one of each type of ipod, each with its own purpose. and in the better world there would be no apple-tax on mp3 players.

What is it with these specious comparisons on OB now? Comparing any iPod to ANY other brand and you might as well be comparing (pardon the pun) apples & oranges! :p
The "bargain" here is a substantial reduction on a brand name item that you RARELY see discounted! I do agree that Apple stuff is overpriced, and often over-hyped; but some people want Apple, not Aldi regardless of direct feature set comparison!
For those who were looking to buy a Shuffle soon, this is a great bargain, kudos to the uploader! :)
these deals will become a lot more common in the next few weeks, as ALL current ipod lines are discontinued and resellers aren't able to order them from apple.
it's a good way to clear current generation stock before it's outdated with the new lineup in september.

pretty good deal from a retail store. although i got both of mine for far less on ebay ;) i think the sound quality is good enough with the standard earphones. i wish they'd move the inline control further down the cable so it's easier to grab
