Site is much faster now, but still slow compared to a normal day. Looking at a 3DS is the normal 3DS XL good or go for the New 3DS XL? Will only play Pokemon, Zelda and Professor Layton.

    • Get the new one so you can play the next pokemon as well.

Damn, all sold out. Put the games in my cart first went back and dead links. Used 2DS for $80 sounds good.

      • Next pokemon will be n3ds exclusive?

        • Probably not, but the game will probably run better on it/have additional features using the new 3DS. That's what they've done with previous releases. In any case, getting the best one available is a better investment imo.

        • @victinini:

Ruby and sapphire don't seem to run any faster on the n3ds to me…

The games seem to run exactly the same, in fact besides Xenoblade Chronicles the n3ds' extra power hasn't seemed to be used at all?

The nub has been used for a couple of games like Majoras and the shoulder buttons haven't been touched. I haven't been totally convinced that my purchase has been justified yet!

        • @Circly: I too hope that you will get more out of it than you are now! I think the general consensus is that if you already have a 3DS then you don't need to upgrade, but if you're buying for the first time then the new 3DS is objectively better than its predecessors for not much more money.

So people like me can probably do with waiting for the 4DS lol.

    • You really only need the "New" 3ds XL if you want to be able to play the handful of "New 3ds only" titles I think theres like 3-4 at the moment. Anyway aside from that it has better 3D eye tracking or some tech to make it so the 3d stay aligned to your viewing direction as opposed to the normal one where you have to hold it perfect or it gets blurry ect. It also includes a joystick and additional buttons but if you get the normal 3ds xl you can buy a Circle pad pro XL for that for roughly $20. Now before the "new 3ds xl" came out only a handful of games made use of the circle pad pro and it wasn't really required to enjoy most of the library. Now that it's built into the Current model 3ds we may see games built to use it more or games that will be a better experience on the new model vs the old model unless you buy a CPP.

I would find it extremely unlikely that pokemon or Professor layton would make use of the extra buttons. Zelda could but you could always get the CPP later if needed. Anyway what I'm trying to say is due to the fact there are soooo many normal 3ds and 3ds xl consoles out there nintendo and third parties will most likely not make N3ds Exclusive games or games which may favor those controls only as they won't sell well so if you want the cheaper normal 3ds xl go for it or if you have the spare cash the eye tracker on the N3ds and not having to pay for the cpp and carry it around could be better for you.

Saw this tweet in response to someone missing out on a deal. Encore maybe?

    • Have to give Eb credit. They are being quite responsive to people's rage.

  • Order arrived today.. RECORD time for EB.. shipped yesterday and was in my Parcel Locker this afternoon. Colour me impressed.

    • Mine arrived today too (Sydney), after shipping from QLD on the night of the deal.

  • I got mine today and I am a bit surprised. I have received download tokens for both Tomb Raiders, FIFA16 and Ori but the advert says digital downloads for Ori and Tomb Raider Definitve Edition only.

I am mistaken? Did it say these were downloads only and I missed it?

  • Still awaiting the two Xbox 360 games I ordered.
I didn't even get the email that they had been despatched until Friday though!

For $3.50 postage I really expected better than this. It had better not be download tokens for all this delay.
I'm already miffed at the thought that I could have got both games for $10 each from my local Dick Smith (they had them both the week before).

JB Hifi even managed to post a later order of two $5 games for a combined total of $1.98 postage, and I received those last week - EBG hadn't even posted theirs at that time!

Your order page should have an eparcel link to click on for tracking.

      • It arrived today, had to sign for it which is the one thing better than JB Hi-fi's delivery which was just left in the postbox.
Then again, this was $47 worth of games, whereas JB Hifi was $10, and it took seven days longer.

  • Does anyone want to buy the Xbox1 FIFA16 download token that I received as part of this deal?
