    Thanks for approving, glad it is finally over and hope CR can recover costs from Yomojo. Now how do I go about deleting my credit card details and ensuring I do not get charged another month?

    • I emailed Yomojo (so I have a record) requesting CC details be removed & account closed at end of this billing period.

      I previously referred to attempts to leave Yomojo as covered under their Hotel California Clause 😀

    As for Yomojo not exactly sure what they were trying to achieve here. If it was to piss off potential and new customers then they have certainly done a great job. Hopefully CR does not end up out of pocket for the mess Yomojo created. Poor form.

  • Switched to PAYG as don't seem to be able to remove credit card, and can't see anywhere to close the account entirely… hopefully that is good enough..

    • Change you credit card details to a debit card.

    • You can also change the expiry month and CSV of your credit card to a random number to be safe.

      • Even though my process went great, given what has happened, and my parting chat, I'd be extremely reluctant to ever go with his mob for any of my telco needs, no matter the price. I certainly won't be recommending them to friends and family.

    To have complete peace of mind in departing from Yomojo. This is what I did before the next billing.
    1. Change next month to $0 plan.
    2. Change credit card details to a $0 balance Visa debit gift card
    3. Get a free $2 Telstra SIM and port the number out, without recharge of course.

    Bye bye Yomojo….

  • Just to be safe like others i went on live chat earlier today and closed my account. I had already had auto-renewal deactivated over a week ago.

    I am officially separated from Yomojo for good :)

    Alert! - I was being charged today to top up my plan when I have deactivated it.

    • Did you call up to deactivate it?

      • No, chat with them to get it fixed, and asked them to remove CC detail too.

    It seems Yomojo is causing a lot of hassles for the consumer. Only time before they fold with the position they are in I mean they are just ignoring people's requets to not auto recharge and billing the credit card.

    Got the Cashback & so far no hassle with their service.

  • Screenshot your dashboard with the Live Chat box visible during the cancellation process, in addition to e-mailing yourself the chat transcript. Otherwise the moment the cancellation goes through the account is no longer accessible. I'm covering all bases with this company.

  • If your usage is over or forgot to cancel account, I think you are still liable to the charges even if you are using a $0 balance debit card. The charge to the card may fail but they can chase after you for payment if they want to.

    I don't want to rely on them cancelling the account nor wanting to talk to them so I ported the number out before the end of cycle. I can't log in to their portal any more LOL… Peace of mind.

    • I have changed the plan to 'personalised' and it says total $0.00 at the bottom, so they can't charge.

      • When data usage is over the limit, they charge PAYG rate! The $0 plan kicks in for next month.
        Then if you forgot to cancel, data usage is chargeable as well unless you make sure the SIM card will not be in a phone. As I said, knowing what this company is like, I do not want any nasty surprises and argue with them.

  • Yomojo just tried to charge me even though i have auto recharge off. Luckily it was a prepaid visa card.. time to move the number

  • More than a few people have reported copping unwanted charges now.
    If are not comfortable with going to your Yomojo dashboard and setting next month to 0 values you and want to be 100% sure either:

    -Call up and cancel your account
    -Live chat and cancel your account (screen shot)
    -Port out to a spare $2 SIM from another company
    and/or
    -Change your credit card to a $1 or low amount prepaid card

    Lot easier to do these things than try to get your money back.

  • Yomojo deleted my account. Cannot login to check if I remembered to cancel auto topup.
    How much at they charging every month ? I want to see if I got stung by them in my credit card statement

    I am one of those who turned their auto-top to OFF and still got charged $15 today !

    Jumped on live chat and was told that this does not stop the RENEWAL. The plan still would renew. The auto-top up just stops any PAYG payments…

    So to turn off RENEWAL every month, log in to Dashboard and go to Change your plan.
    Then select Personalised and slide all the sliders to left to show 0.

    Only then you wont be charged next time.

    Now I also think that not being able to change your payment method is a farce …

    Can we get our $15's back, all of us …. ??

  • My plan was meant to expire today, I changed the CC details to an empty (and closed) ANZ one just in case.

    I get this email today:

    Hey CVonC,
    We were unable to take a payment to renew your packs on your service 0481081412.

    Please head to your Dashboard and check your payment details. Then click on 'change your plan' and re-select your pack configuration for the next 30 days. This will take a payment & instantly add your packs to your service.

    As we couldn't renew your packs, you will be charged standard PAYG rates for your usage so act now to save money!

        • I had 4 accounts for members for the family. 3 were closed completely (can't log in) and the 4th (mine) remained alive. Since I already got my cashback I just changed the cc details incase Yomojo try ignoring my auto-renew being off. Best to do because my renew is set to October which I think is so they can continue to bill the months until then (sneaky).

    Way too much effort for $20.

    Terrible ill thought out promotion and very poorly handled. Not to mention how unintuitive it is to actually cancel and remove your credit card details.

    I'm sure Yomojo lost lots of money and reputation over this.

      The deal has 374 positive votes because the majority came when it was still believed to be a straight forward deal. The votes remained because TA went to great effort to ensure we'd still be compensated despite Yomojo complete and utter incompetence which a 10 yo could have handled better, the irony is if they had simply honoured the deal it would have cost them far less than this whole charade will ultimately cost them. I give them 12 months before Yomojo is history or run by another management team and considering this team is already their 2nd shot I doubt they'll get a 3rd chance.

      I disagree with your comment, it's easy to criticize with the benefit of hindsight - none of this could have been foreseen.

      At the end of the day it's in everyone's rear vision mirror now, move on.

      • I'm not being negative, just realistic. Do you really think this deal went well? Just look through the most recent comments. I cant hide from the truth and be ignorant while pretending everything's going to be okay lol. This is what the voting system is for (but its now pretty much a popularity contest/nice votes only etc). If a new person came across this deal and saw the huge positive votes, theyd be inclined to sign up with Yomojo, even though they should be avoided. Very misleading. Why would you want that? OzBargain should be a place to share knowledge and keeping informed. Not some sell out affiliated sponsored website.

    Just got this email:

    That's after I changed my cc details of course. As I expected, they still tried to get some money out. Their "renew period" is a few months so technically they aren't breaking the auto-renew policy. But I bet many are relying on that solely which will result in money being snatched.

      Yeah I got charged with the auto renew off. Chat with Vince online he insisted there is no way to get it refund for this month. And I need to change the plan to payg if I don't want to be charged the following months.
      This is really disappointing for them to charge us as many of here was shared that we only need to turn off auto renew.

    But first they made him agree to more t&c…

    please take note of the following Cancellation Terms and Conditions:
    * Once cancelled, Number will be deleted from our system and we can no longer reactivate and retrieve the number back.
    * Cancellation is irreversible. If you need to port the number to a different provider, please request this with your new provider and your account will automatically be cancelled with us once the transfer is complete.
    * Any remaining packs / top up credits (if any) will be forfeited once we cancel the account.

    If you understood and agree to all the terms above, please confirm so we can complete your cancellation request.
