    • say whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

Yeah for $2099, I'd rather get a slightly smaller 7-series screen.

Gets good reviews but will cost me a extra grand a year in electricity compared to my 52" LED

    • LOL

yeah sure it will. *rolls eyes at LCD displays with LED backlight fanboys".

Enjoy your bad uniform displays and crappy PQ and leave the Panasonic plasma's for the rest of us :)

      • $1000 a year……. LOL….this thread just keeps getting better

        • Yeah my fu**up I was trying to work out KWH (based on $22/kwh x 6Hours x 365 x 242Watts) in my head and put the decimal point in the wrong place its closer to $100 difference. I want to upgrade but I also but I am also trying to keep my energy bill under $400 quarter

    • Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

What the? This is the second outrageous power consumption claim from you today

      From http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/46204 ….

"If left plugged in over a year this powerboard will use between $25 - $70 worth of additional electricity over the year."

    • Gets good reviews but will cost me a extra grand a year in electricity compared to my 52" LED

It will not even cost you an extra $1,000 over 10 years compared to your LED

    • Hey Sonic, just want a little advice from you, would you say plugging this TV in the Jackson power board is a very good combo for a tree killer like me?

  • These new 2011 models will play HD mkv and divx files straight from a portable hard drive formatted to fat32 or NTFS . Not sure where it goes wrong with the old ones but it didn't work for me when I tried them in the show room . This is a great price for a great plasma .
Also you can use your android/iphone as a remote control . These things are sweet . Also the new 2011 models use bluetooth glasses and are not compatible with the old infra red glasses that previous samsungs used .
FYI the D550 is no good in a lit room due to reflections but fine in a theater room . The 6900 has extra filters that greatly reduce reflections .

    • 2010 models also play mkv files from USB media - I keep a 2tb connected to mine at all times
Annoying that the old 3D glasses don't work, was looking for a plasma tv for my other tv room and would've bought another Sammy if I could use the glasses on either tv. Guess I'll go for a pana plasma instead.

      • Do they read NTFS formatted partitions ? . The c7000 I tested definitely did not read the exact same drive that worked with the D series .
Edit : Do they maybe update themselves over the net ?

both my 2010 46" LED + Ps50c7000 play MKV 5.1 vids straight from a 1tb NTFS formatted HDD and a FAT32 8gb hdd, both have the latest firmware….

EDIT: maybe u have a FAT32 hdd more then 32gb…….the tv probably wont recognize that as even windows dosent…
