My comment still stands especially when you read the T&C’s Note the points
“a game of skill” and “winners are drawn at random” So its not the first 200 its the first 200 randomly drawn.
and as cyssero wisely discovered it ends July 2nd - so its a waste of time.

It’s not a “chance” to win, but you actually do get it when you submit 30 reviews…if you’re one of the first 200 members.
to be fair, it’s not a bad deal (30 words each, 30 reviews = free shuffle) - it’s a bit of effort though i guess!
That’s 900 words MINIMUM to get an iPod Shuffle, which you can normally buy for around AUD$60. 5 minute to write a review (if it is even possible, including the time to search, make up a sentence, try to be truthful objective, etc.
Moreover, how do you know that you are the first 200? You might have written 29 and the “deal” still seems to be available. But when you submitted your 30th review, you might get a message saying “sorry you are the 201st”…
Actually, if you read the T&C you will find it’s a 2GB iPod shuffle. Makes it an even better deal!
EDIT: Come to think, did anyone read the T&C at all? “The promotions commences on Monday, June 23, 2008 at 9.30am AEDT and closes Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 5pm AEST (Promotional Period).” Does anyone know if the promo is still running?
Exactly. But the funny thing is after each review they still pop up an ad saying post 30 reviews and win an iPod. I’ve fired off an e-mail to customer service and hopefully they will clarify. No where on the site does it say 31st July expiry, only expiry date has long gone now. I just did 31 reviews so I’m really hoping it has been extended, otherwise this deal might need to be removed :-(

Not exactly on topic, but I discontinued my company’s activities several years before they began work. Don’t know where they got their details from, but they posted my company’s details without asking for permission.
Trying to work out how to get them to remove me from their listings.
I’ve got 30 approved now. I had about 20 approved with 14 pending for a long time and so I just started reviewing more and the new ones became approved whereas the old pending ones are still pending. I suggest anyone in the same situation to just try reviewing more until you get to 30 approved.
The terms and conditions have been updated on the site. Some points to note.
1) It’s now a 1GB ipod shuffle (previously said 2GB)
2) Promotion closes Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 8:00pm AEST (previously said 2/7/08)
3) Prize rewarded to first 200 members to review (previously said 200 chosen at random)
Also, Prizes will be allocated at 2.00pm on Thursday, August 7, 2008 … winners will be notified by email.

Just finished my 30 now, might do a couple more incase any of mine were under 30 words (just to be safe).
Have patience ross, I hve had 26 of mine approved with 4 still pending. I submitted mine the night before last.
Does anyone know why some of your reviews come up as first reviews and others just as reviews, or how you get your review posted as a helpful review? I think all of mine are helpful…. hahaha
I did they same 3 nights ago, and am still waiting for approval of reviews done 3 nights ago, while a review I did 30 minutes ago has already been approved.
There seems to be no rhyme nor reason to reviews which haven’t been approved. They certainly aren’t bad reviews.
Keep writing is my advice, I’ve done 60 and have 29 approved now.
The T+Cs say:
“Prizes will be allocated at 2.00pm on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 2 Holt Street, Surry Hills NSW 2010. The winners will be notified by email and their name and state/territory of residence will be published within The Australian Newspaper – public notices section on Monday, August 18, 2008. Winner’s names will also be placed on www.truelocal.com.au.”

I didn’t submit all my reviews till the 15th (Bout 24 hours after this was initally posted), and they wern’t reviewed till about miday the next day.
Should i ring them or just email them??
