TTR not applicable here as no physical cash involved.

  • Am I missing something…I'm thinking of converting to velocity pts? Is this a bad redemption rate? 2.5:1

    • wait till there is a bonus for transfers

      • velocity has a 15% currently

  • I'm sorry if I'm late to the party.

    My understanding is:
    1. You can setup payall to pay yourself or other people via a scheduled date to a maximum of your credit limit or $35,000.
    2. You then pay it back however you normally pay your credit card balance.

The one thing that I do not understand is the interest free. I can't see any information about being interest free? I normally setup my credit card to pay the full balance every month.

If someone can help, I would appreciate it.

    • yes you get the same interest free period, they treat the transfer as normal purchases like buying from amazon for example or your $4 coffee

    • I'd say it's best to do 34k and leave 1k for your monthly expenses to accumulate the remaining 1k worth of point for the month.

  • +1

Most incompetent bank around. They send a message last week saying the PayAll will be charged on 3/6. On 1/6 receive a message saying it has been declined (since a payment transferred to the card yesterday, 3 days before the apparent charge date has not cleared) and you need to make other arrangements. If you were using this for its intended purpose and were relying on the credit to make a payment you would be stuffed as you can't set up the next PayAll payment to be paid for another 7 days. Good to see people rorting this for points as not much use for anything else.

    • Well dont use all your credit limit then. Be reasonable if you have 10k then do payall for 8k something like that.

    • Yeah I learnt my lesson too last month. Even worst, even I paid after issued statement, they still taking out payment on the due date. I paid via direct debit

    • Dear Customer,

We would like to remind you that the following credit card transaction will be processed in 3 days. Please ensure there is sufficient balance on your card.

This was written in the email titled with "Your Citi PayAll transaction reminder" 7 days before my payment due date.

    • +1

Once I get the sms reminder, I do a osko transfer to my Citi plus account the payall amount, then transfer into the Citi card to ensure the payall goes through without a problem.

      • so the city plus to citi card is instant ? right now i use bpay to pay off my card but it takes 2 days very annoying

        • +1

          Yep, reflects instanty for me.

          • @Team Ozgiftcards: thanks. if you happen to know, what's the limit of osko from Macquarie (or ING) to citi plus - i can use the one that bigger.
will try small amount first i dont use my citi plus for years i read stories where they can kind of deactivate it if inactive for too long.

  • I've been holding off doing this. Looks like it's all good? I can PayAll into my offset account at CBA yeah. Then send it back to citi plus account a few days before ready to go. No one has had their cards suspended or anything?

    • Have been doing this for the past two months and no issue so far.

    • no issues, $200 in flybuys points so far

  • just had a bizarre convo with citi agent.
she said if you have auto debit payment setup (pay full balance at the end of billing period), then do not make manual payment ever, because system will still debit the full amount when it is due.

    • Well, I can confirm this is true. I forgot I had an auto payment already set up and paid my card off a few day before. Just logged in and checked and my balance is now a positive balance (so the auto payment was processed as well).

      • Well lucky you have enough, my auto payment was decline and got $15 dishonour fee lucky they able to waive that after explaining the above….

    • Isn't this a standard practice for all card issuers? Once you set up a direct payment for the full closing balance, you will get charged that amount regardless of how much you have manually paid after the statement is issued.

  • What payment category are people using when making payments to self? I've noticed some (e.g. Home and renovation, bills, professional services) only allow one-off payments and not regular payments. Paying myself for say education sounds rather odd :)

  • Tried to pay 35k to car dealer, but had no luck. One day before citi charges funds on my credit card, I received this message "Your Citi PayAll payment of AUD 35000.00 to XXX XXX PTY LTD from card ending XXXX has failed. Please make alternative payment arrangements."
I have sufficient credit limit and available limit in my credit card, contacted citi they do not seem to understand this either. Just wondering if anyone had similar experience? thank yu.

    • +1

I don’t have any experience with this issue, but I wonder if there is a bug that means the payment needs to be less than your limit, you could try $34999.

      • I have balance of 15k but I can't do max, I do 14k at a time

        • True, I have 15k too, can't set 5k and 10k (eventhough for future payment) at the same time. Regardless whether I paid more than my balance or not. It's not that hard though, just have to work around it to do weekly schedule to maximize.

        • maybe thats why.. too bad guichenmin didnt say how much is his credit limit

    • What’s your card limit? I believe can only do a payment of up to 95% of your card limit at 1 time.

  • Have you guys spent up your existing points incase they cancel your rewards account?

    • Yeah, I used some for Woolies gift card, just in case

    • I redeem flybuys points straight away.

      • yeah i think someone mentioned in the past, if you have that signature/premier card, redeeming to flybuys gives a little more (comparing into WW or Coles directly)

        • Ah I forgot that. But the last Woolworths egift card I got from them, works at Big W too somehow, so not too bad (I thought they stopped that, only Wish gift card works on multiple store). I did exchange for Woolworths egift (can't find Wish), and the picture/description really said Woolworths Grocery.

          • +1

@hanofee: I can see $100 WISH gift cards, but up to $500 Woolworths gift cards.

I just did a test and you're right, the Woolworths branded gift cards from Citibank are WISH gift cards (i.e. you can use them anywhere). If you look at the barcode number, WISH cards start with 628000555 while Woolworths cards with 628000711 and Dan Murphy's with 628000715 (these are the only ones I've bought, but I'd imagine BigW etc. would have different numbers as well).

            • +1

@f4te: They might have changed things now… I bought a $500 Woolworths card and it was a 721 number, meaning it can only be used for groceries and isn't a WISH one.

  • I am now getting you cannot transfer to your account anymore. does that mean citi caught me doing it too many times????

    • are you setting up a new one, or the recurring ones failing?

      • One off to my nab bank account

        • what is your limit and how much ar eyou transferring?

          • @leeroys_dad: $10k -$7.5k but says can’t transfer to myself anymore. Anyone has the same problem? Just started this week. Maybe they got ozb!

            • @corgicorgi: What do you put in the recipient name field? Are you putting in your own name?

              • @SydneySwan: Yep as the account going is my account and remark as say rent for example or school fees or whatever

                • @corgicorgi: You can put any name in the recipient name field as it is not checked. So if you are ‘paying’ school fees put in the name of the school but your bsb and account number in those fields and a creative reference number in the remarks field.

                  • @SydneySwan: Try that and try someone else’s bsb and account number as a test and kept saying try again later etc.

                    • @corgicorgi: It has worked for me several times without a problem. Last time I did it was yesterday. It sounds as if your account may have been red flagged.

                    • @corgicorgi: Maybe try again next month. Happened to me in April when I couldn’t set anything anymore. So I waited till May 1, and it just worked again. Setting up to same account too

                      • @hanofee: Same issue here as well. Tried transferring to another of my accounts and it says something like cant transfer to your own accounts as per the T&Cs.
Grr, like corgi i was late to the party too.

                        • @TurnipHead: Yep - tried setting up another one to myself to test and didnt go through.
Transferring to another person still worked though.

                          • @Team Ozgiftcards: How they know the account number is belong to yourself ? As many said we can put donald duck in the name there is no name checking

    • Are you transferring to your own Citibank or another bank?

  • I am claiming all my points now to Flybuys, just in case.

  • A bit off topic, but anyone knows if we get that spend $3k to earn $100 gift card, will this PayAll count towards spending?

    • wondering the same thing. Have you managed to find out?

      • Still not sure, I got the offer for Jun/Jul spend and they said 10 weeks after the promo ended (31 July + 10 weeks), so not yet there. Will probably only know mid next month whether I'd get the gift card or not :(

        • Hey mate just want to update you. I get the bonus points so it is eligible spend.

  • Has anyone attempted pay their AMEX statement balance via PayAll? AMEX advised that the account combo is as follows: BSB: 082-001 A/C: 571041914. However there isn't a 'reference' field to enter one's full amex account number.

    • +1

Might be easier to pay yourself (your partner/family) first then to AMEX

  • +1

if I want to pay someone who does not accept credit card but only transfer to bank account, can I use Payall to pay from my Citi credit card and have the interest free days under my Citibank credit card? I’m not missing anything at I?

  • Beware, ^^The annual cap will reset on your
next statement cycle date following the
anniversary of your enrolment to your
Rewards program. The cap includes points
earned on Domestic and International spend.

    Not january to December.

Coming up to when we need to lock in the payments (from what I see best is monthly which allows 60months) as after Oct no longer fee free. I have had quite a few rejections for different reasons so thought it might be good to start a list so people don’t stuff it up and lock themselves out in Oct :)

    (1) Amount of transfer can’t put you over the $35k limit in the month you are starting the payment from or any month its recuring in. (e.g. if fortnightly and a month has 3 debts vs 2 which puts you over limit it will fail)
    (2) Amount of transfer can’t put you over the $35k limit in the month you are setting up the payment in. (e.g. done $35k this month and try to setup payment to start next month won work)
    (3) Amount needs to be less than 95% of your available credit limit at time of payment being debited (this check can happen up to 4 days before payment date)
    (4) Payee Account name can’t be account holders name

    • Great idea.
      5) allow enough time to set up, from memory it must be a minimum 14 days away

      • nope when i try today it says i can schedule for 19th so around 8-9 days minimum?

      • Thanks, Its actually 7 business days including the day you set it up. So will always be min 9 actual days from setup.

    • Cheers, but can you clarify point 2. Are you saying you cant do more than your credit limit within the same month?

I was looking to do do a payment of 95% of my credit limit to a shared offset account per month (will use a different name). Any issues here?
Or are you saying you can pay off that payment and send it somewhere else in the same month?

      • Not your credit limit the Payall limit of $35k per month. So if you transfer $35k in the month you cant even setup any more transfers in that month even if the transfer date is in the next month, you need to wait till 1st of month to setup next transfer.

        • So we really won’t be able to set up much future transfers?

          • +2

@magster: I think this will work (probably best to try in Sept to make sure)
Set up 3 seperate monthly recurring (60 months) transfers for $11,600 (or less if you credit limit wont alow) on 1st Oct for dates 11th, 19th and 28th (11th is first available date and 28th last as feb will fail if you go past 28th). This should give you enough time to get the funds back into you account after eaxh transfer. Best to pay off the transfer day after it comes out.

Assuming they dont cancel it or you reach a points limit this will provide over 2 million points over the 60 months worth over $10k!!

            • @Yabadabadoo: you forget 1 thing: max points your card can accumulate per year (year here is not jan to dec but start from date you received your card long ago).
for premier card like me, it is 200k points. so,…. 200k/12 that is the max per month more will be wasted

              • @CyberMurning: Any idea the max points you can get in a year for platinum?

              • @CyberMurning: Yes you could hit a limit but it has been said that limit doesn't apply to payall and no one has reported hitting a limit yet so untill someone hits a limit we won't know for sure. But at 200k a year its still 1m points/ $5k 😁 over the 60 months

                • @Yabadabadoo: Nope someone here pointed the t&c of payall that it follows the respective card point limitations.

Anyone willing to chat with citi to confirm?

                  • @CyberMurning: Citi staff are useless wouldn't trust what they say as they likely are guessing also wouldn't rock the boat. I am happy with $5k or $10k LOL

                • +1

@Yabadabadoo: Actually the citi web site says: "With Citi PayAll, set up your rent, taxes, education fees, property management fees, childcare, miscellaneous bills and more and be sure to earn Points on every transaction. And the good news is that the number of points you will earn is uncapped."

                  Sounds uncapped to me 😁

                  • @Yabadabadoo: And…

Do I earn rewards on my transactions?

Yes, depending on your card you will be able to earn reward points for each payment either Citi reward Points, Qantas Points or Emirates Skywards Miles. Please note, Terms and Conditions apply as per the Terms and Conditions of the rewards program of which you are enrolled.

                    Typical citi… confusing
                    .

                    • @CyberMurning: Yep, forge ahead and hope for the best :)

                    • @CyberMurning: Wow would have been good if you had the emirates card for this promo. That would have paid dividend heaps.

                • +1

@Yabadabadoo: I'm very close to hitting the limit, 185k points so far, 15k to go before I hit the limit.

                  • @maverick1: Must have missed it but where is 200k points limit?

                  • @maverick1: Just checked my missus account, we have collected 212k points on that a/c
of the 212k, 100k+ have been accrued on Citi Payall transactions
so it seems Payall transactions are excluded from the 200k annual cap

I was going to close this account as soon as we hit the 200k limit, but now it seems I may continue till next year's annual fee is due or maybe I'll continue with both the cards for a while. Will need to setup payall transactions for as far as I can before 31st Oct. This looks like a goldmine :)

                    • @maverick1: Did you pay your annual fee recently? The annual cap resets when your annual fee is due.

                      • @capslock: No. Got the cards in April, so the AF is not due anytime soon.

            • @Yabadabadoo: Ah sweet, I need to get started. So with my $15k limit, I can do 3 X 15k transfers per month as long as I pay them back as soon as the funds clear at the other end?Assume they would need to be 3 different exit accounts as well?

And you are saying I should start them now on the 28th August? Dont really understand that bit, but I'll trust the masters.

    • monthly which allows 60months

Not really. Not on my card anyway. Maximum is 2 years.

      • You need to set the start date in the future to open up further out dates. E.G start in 2023 gives you 2 more years
