apparently it cost less than us$4 to build this machine. I doubt how good can it be.

well that is not what I am talking about…
$35 for a coffee maker probably is a good buy but I am just saying a coffee maker which costs less than us$4 to build is most likely not going to be any good.

I'm going to Neg this deal for the very fact that it mentions a RRP of $129.

    • I'm sorry, but singling out any particular item for criticism based on its manufacturing price alone seems totally nonsensical to me.

Have you even given any thought to the actual cost of producing a mobile phone that sells for hundreds of dollars, for instance?

And quoting alibaba of all places, who sell in bulk? Their price has absolutely no corelation with the selling price here in Australia or anywhere else.

This article might interest you then …

Using a mobile phone was probably the worst example you could pick by the way.

        • Using a mobile phone was probably the worst example you could pick by the way.

So fine - pick an item, any item, and there is generally very little corelation between the actual cost of producing it and the selling price.

Again, negging a post based entirely on its price of production, and quoting the price of a bulk supplier based in China for comparison just doesn't make sense.

        • i agree, qouting on the price of construction isn't a comparison. I think what that comment was mean't to imply was that it looked cheap :P

        • re:and quoting the price of a bulk supplier based in China for comparison just doesn't make sense.

I am not quoting the bulk supplier price for comparison, and I have no idea about the shipping, tariff and tax that should be added on to it.

          I simply meant… the cost of the material + manufacture < US$4
a coffee maker sounds too cheap.

Does "ending the coffee craving for good" mean that you will never want another cup of coffee ever again?!

    • yeah, some marketing person needs to go and re-learn me thinks

    • +1

after using this you may never want to have another coffee again.

    • That reminds me of the restaurant handing out bumper stickers saying "Try our food - you'll never get better!"

  • Zazz have done something very similar for $20 in the past. I did buy one about a year ago and it is good coffee….but in all honesty have only used it about 4-5 times.

    • haha..price increase due to CPI increase?:D

  • this thing looks cheap and tacky, atleast go and get the $79 aldi machine it makes a decent cup

essentially the same thing and makes more :/

    • or even cheaper again is a plunger, don't let this product fool you for a proper expresso machine :P

  • Shocky can make a better cup than this

    • is Shocky really a common name for type of coffee makers in English,
or it is just a MOTHER referance?
