  • I smoke my trees

    • Got any seeds?

  • +6

I’ve been trying all day to claim this! Serious web issues at ServiceNSW 😒 Good luck!

    • yeah, gives me a PEGA page when trying to log in

    • Wasn't working for me earlier today but just claimed mine now no issues.

      • -2

Thanks I finally got through… what a marathon for one orange tree!

        • +1

          Yep, I went the naval.

    • There was the chance to claim up to 3 trees back in May,

  • Lorax approves

    • Side note, anyone hear back from Bunnings yet? I put in my application this morning

      • -7

That’s so unfair that some people get through and others don’t. What a complete stuff up!

        • +4

Honestly, what do you expect with government websites.

          • @HairyChickens: Not much. Most devs I knew that went to work for the government after uni back in the day were the one's that consistently kept failing units or paying people to do their assignments for them. The few that were actually good at what they do left after a short while.

        • +8

Life is unfair, move on with your life. Get a grip, we’re talking about tree seeds ffs. I remember when the people on this site were grown ups.

          • @kiriakoz: They are small trees not seeds, and I have been on the waiting list for months.

        • well if it hadnt been posted on here…. I received the email for it directly from them as i had registered for it ages ago. But its already out of stock now thanks to it being posted on here being ozbargained. Screws up the people who had registered for it previously and had been waiting several months.

  • Thank you for helping us work towards planting 1 million trees for Greater Sydney by 2022.

Bunnings Warehouse will soon be in contact to let you know when you can collect your free tree(s)!

Please take this email with you (preferably on your phone).

For information about how to plant and look after your tree(s) please visit the Bunnings webpage here

    Kind regards,

    The Free Trees Team

  • Is this a regular initiative?

    • +1

Yep, claimed 1 back in 2020, same deal and same process. Took ages to get the plant/tree though.

  • The Hills shire also have a regular program giving away native trees, we have got them a few times over the years.

    • Same at Blacktown City, have been able to claim 2 plants per address for years. Can also claim additional plants at local events (e.g. Woodcroft Festival).

  • +1

"Nothing but Space" <<< I got this msg after logging in with MyServiceNSW account

    • Getting the same

    • Click "new" in the side bar and there is a free tree option

      • Use laptop

        • +1

Thanks. Using laptop now, and stuck at "Select tree(s)". There's one/three dropdown(s), but they have no options in the list

  • -3

My address doesn't appear despite being in an eligible LGA. Another genius move NSW government!

  • I can't even log in

  • Oh Cool so Central Coast should be included as we are part of greater Sydney for Covid Restrictions…. Oh whats that? Oh Central Coast isn't included for free trees though, just for Covid restrictions…

  • Do you think there’s a small tree I can put in my apartment balcony?

    • +1

would like to know too +1

    • Depending on the conditions of your balcony (e.g. which direction it faces, how much sun it gets) you may be able to keep one of the trees in a big pot, but it would require more ongoing care than in the ground.

  • +1

Site not working - nothing but space error

  • did anyone get anything besides the Orange Valencia for the fruit tree options?

    • How to select fruit tree? I got all shrubs… :(

      • you have to select the one tree option. or otherwise maybe its all gone

    • I got an imperial mandarin at 14:50. But didn't see this deal on Ozb till now.

  • What! No Wollongong or Central Coast?

  • +5

Theres a option to pick one or three trees, selecting one give you a list with no trees in it so only option is three where you can only get a bottle brush or tea tree. Anyone else get this?

    • Lucky you, you still have tea trees, my selection are bottle brush as far as the eyes can see.

      • bottle brush got toxic? tea tree can make some tea tree oil?

  • +1

cant select 1 tree, has 2 be 3, and they are shrubs. Better then noting though

    • Is there a time frame before you qualify for the next give away? Maybe it could be worth waiting if that's the case

  • +2

    my choices were ;
    -kings park bottlebrush
    -hannah ray bottlebrush

is that the same for everyone else?

    • Looks like that’s all that’s left
Earlier on there were more choices

    • Yep thats what i saw too

    • Getting the same for Blacktown LGA.

    • That's what I got too. Better than nothing. We love trees dont we ;)

  • same. was hoping to get a mandarin or an orange tree but bad luck..

  • I feel lucky to secure an orange tree as my friend tried to select and he couldn't. Fingers crossed

  • all gone. Theres nothing to select

  • +1

Yep looks like it's all over.

  • hopefully someone message me tomorrow that its back in stock, becareful of stink bugs.

  • My 2020 lemon tree is doing really well in a massive pot. Was hoping for a bottle brush tree or similar small native for the front garden this time around since there's one already but looking like it needs company :)

Too bad it seems all used up for now (ozbargained again like 2020 when I last did this and Bunnings took many many weeks to get stock)

    • Out of curiosity how wide/tall is the pot?
Our lemon tree that was planted in ground dried out somehow and I'd like to get a new one but this time planted in a pot.

      • +1

Just over 45cm tall/wide and made out of concrete - someone gave me this pot free of charge. I didn't like the look of it but I don't have anything else this size I thought it would break me when I had to move house recently - SO HEAVY

I've had a bad experience with a previous lemon tree in a pot and this time I bought the highest quality potting mix I could find and I regularly water and alternate seaweed, charlie carp, bokashi compost juice and also add some citrus fertiliser every 6 months.

I'd probably go slightly larger and plastic next time because I'd want to move it without needing help :)

        • +1

Thanks mate, a great insight, appreciate the reply :)

  • +1

    OZ Bargained.

  • All gone already far out

  • Application form still works, but then when you get through to selecting which tree you want, the list is blank

  • I'm still waiting for the ones I successfully claimed in June. Last update was over a week ago saying 'nearly ready'. No idea where I'm going to put them now as gave up during lockdown.

  • Still waiting for my email Bunnings from last time!

  • Still waiting to see the free tree service to add to my services! Not that I care much. We live in a BAL FZ house and the choices either contain highly votatile oils (burn like crazy) or are fruit trees that require more sun than we can give and care than we are willing to give.
