expired 4x Gold Class Movie Tickets for $39 (Save $117), Free Postage - Friday's Amex Connect Deal
This was posted 1 year 1 month 25 days ago, and might be an out-dated deal
Okay, I'll post this a day early. I think I have enough tickets now.
This is today's upcoming deal for Amex Connect (at 12:00pm). I am not a rep, a few of us on the forums figured out how to get this info early.
Gold Class Movie Tickets, buy 1, get 3 free. $39 for 4 tickets, saving $117. Free postage via Australia Post (ordinary, not registered).
Tickets expire 30 March 2013.
Valid at Event, Birch Carroll & Coyle and Village cinemas.
You're meant to need a bank issued (ANZ, CBA, NAB, Westpac) Amex but in reality it simply DOES NOT MATTER.
I have used a non-bank issued Amex to buy a whole bunch of stuff from Amex Connect already. Just select any bank when asked.
I don't know how many will be available but the first batch had 700 lots, the second batch had 400 lots.
So the link was meant to be: http://www.amexconnect.com.au/OfferDetails.aspx?OfferId=47
BUT, if yesterday's deal is anything to go by, it might change so I suggest you simply bookmark http://www.amexconnect.com.au
TIPS for those crying about not being able to purchase anything:
Use a decent fixed broadband internet connection, not some mobile "broadband" rubbish.
Have your credit card number saved in the clipboard so you can just Ctrl-V it (or if your name is really really long, maybe have that saved instead).
At around 11:45, go to the site, click on Your Profile, log in again when prompted by the pseudo-popup, and leave the browser open.
Open up your system clock. It should be sync'ed to an internet time server, just as Amex Connect's server is. When it hits 12:00:00pm, refresh the page. No earlier.
Maybe open another tab loading the page every 5-10 seconds, but leave the current one going. Don't hit refresh.
Once one starts loading, close all others.
Do this for the first click (View Deal), and second click (Buy Now).
TYPE FAST.
T&C will state one purchase per person per account per card per day per whatever.
However, if you have multiple accounts you can purchase multiple times, just use different details in the top box of checkout.
Delivery name / address can be the same, credit card details can be the same.
You will need multiple accounts now as the email address field is not editable as it was during the first batch of tickets. To pull this off, have multiple browsers / computers pre-logged in from different accounts (will likely sell out before you can switch accounts).
This is the last daily deal by Amex Connect (unless they extend it).
Thanks for the great ride, American Express. Cheers for the bargains.

Guess what today's deal will be:

The direct link has typically been:
http://www.amexconnect.com.au/OfferDetails.aspx?OfferId=47
(substituting 47 following the obvious pattern), redirecting to 48 until 12:00pm SHARP
but today's tablet tricked us by jumping to 118 (random)

Isnt this against the T&Cs? Why bother having T&Cs if people are going exploit a bug/flaw?
Also I dont see a deal. Posting 'deals' before it's actually on is not really the point of ozbargains?
http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:deal_posting_guideline...Feel free to neg me but what Im saying is true?
dorothi_toto on 29/03/2012 - 12:45 ¶can you use a visa? .. this is a serious question. someone said you could use any card even tho it does contravene T&C. but so does a non-bank issued amex so just wondering if anyone has tried a non-amex card.

I don't know but I wouldn't be surprised if it's allowed. Well technically not allowed but their system does not check the first 4 digits of the card to see if it matches the Bank issued AMEX's or not. So it's just a flaw in their 'system' in which case people exploit it.
lukelegend on 29/03/2012 - 12:53 ¶damm, now it's been ozbargained i've got no chance of getting some ticket :(
-3 votesIt would be pretty funny if they didnt have the movie tickets, and put out something else.
Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

huntress_love on 29/03/2012 - 14:25 ¶what cinemas are they, i know it's greater union but we dont have gold class in melbourne.
so does it work for village or hotys???
+1 voteplasmapuff on 29/03/2012 - 13:41 ¶Can anyone recommend any free Amex cards to take advantage of these offers? (best one without annual fees)
Cheers
flyingtrapeze on 29/03/2012 - 19:53 ¶if you are interested in apply for an amex card, first apply for discovery card, then upgrade to bmw gold card, both free of charge. if you give me your email, I can send you a referral, which will give you extra Frequent Flyer points (and 5000 points to the referrer). I referred a few people here before and besides the points, I won an iPad 16G/Wifi from a less well known amex promotion. Thank you Amex.
+1 voteguidedlight on 29/03/2012 - 15:30 ¶*** It appears it is only valid for ozbargainers in NSW, QLD, SA and WA. ***
There are no Gold Class: Event, Birch Carroll or Greater Union cinemas in VIC, TAS, ACT.
Sad face :-(

+1 voteFrom 5 March for the duration of the month, every weekday from midday onwards, we’ll be lifting the lid on great offers on your favourite products, for bank issued American Express Cardmembers. With only a limited number of each offer available per day, you’ll need to get in early and have your card ready.

minniethemoocher on 30/03/2012 - 10:54 ¶Hi Cooni just to let you know most of the stuff you mentioned above I had already worked out myself eg the direct link, copying credit card info from the clipboard.I even created a shorter email address back when we manually had to type it in. I have adsl 2+. I've tried internet explorer, google chrome, safari. I can only get on when the deal is sold out and I have tried everyday for the last three weeks. So I'm glad it worked for you but it just doesn't for me and probably many others.

greydaniel on 30/03/2012 - 10:54 ¶The anticipation is killing me…. does anyone want to put odds on?
