Also at Peter's of Kensington's eBay store. Maybe handy if you have eBay Plus and a coupon.

    • Maybe handy if you have eBay Plus and a coupon.

"take AU $0.75 off this item when you join ebayplus"

      • Yes, I was hoping for something better but that's the only one I could use.

    • +3

Yeah eBay plus gives you $5 off for $15 so this would be sweet if you have kind of those

      • +4

The last $5 off one I got has a $50 min spend. :(

      • Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.
Didn't get a voucher for over a month now..
Last time it took a month to resolve

      • Thanks, just redeemed mine..bit fiddly as I couldn't cut and paste the long code.. had to manually enter it to avoid activating the $0.75 cents discount instead.. Bargain, only paid $10 to replace the lost scissors that originally came with Mum's knife block.

      • Thanks for this, got a pair for $10! 😁

Now if only I could get like 2 more for this price!

      • Still in stock on ebay just got a pair for $10 using the $5 ebay plus code

    • Thank you for the link. The eBay message says "Something for you"

    • Not available in your selected quantity. Quantity 1.

    • Ebay support is useless again:

upon checking I am not able to see any voucher in your summary section, ma I know where do you see the voucher you are referring to?

Also can't manage my ebay plus membership - not even possible to cancel at this stage either ..
It's a known issue too apparently.

2 monthly vouchers people should be getting, and the response Ebay gives is "I don't see any voucher, what are you referring to"

      • The vouchers are definitely there, but simply disappeared from My eBay Summary. Nice work, eBay!

I got in touch with them about this issue on Friday last week.

Their generic response was they are having technical issues at the moment. Hopeless as usual.

        • On my partner's account the voucher is almost 4 weeks overdue, they said to wait 48 hours and to be patient, it will be issued.
On my account the voucher supposedly expired 2 days ago (no way to know because the voucher is not visible in the summary and the message I got 28 days ago was not mentioning an expiry) when I ask for this month's voucher eBay asked to be patient and the voucher will definitely have 30 days expiry -
It's almost impossible these vouchers are given with an automated system given this irregularity, unless they purposely added a random delay.

          • @johnmelb:

no way to know because the voucher is not visible in the summary and the message I got 28 days ago was not mentioning an expiry

When eBay issue other vouchers like the $25 off $150 spend (Black Friday promo), you can view the code and expiry from your messages.
No such thing happens with the $5 vouchers. It is almost as if eBay wants you to forget about them altogether.

            • +1

@DoctorCalculon: Over the past 2 years, for $5 voucher, I did get some via message. It's very inconsistent.
              Subject:

              Your name, something for you.

              Body:

your name here's your $5 coupon*

The $5 of $50 does have expiry date in the message
              Subject:

Your name, you've got $5 off!

              Body:

              • @johnmelb: Yes, you are right.
I found some from last year in hidden eBay Plus emails. Again, no consistency.

    • Legend. Much respect.

I got like 4 kitchen scissors from a previous Coles reward deal collecting points and swapping them at the end of the period. I just bought stuff I always buy for weeks so these were technically free. They look exactly like this model.

    • +9

      Lmao there's no comparison.

The Coles ones are far less powerful and most importantly don't come apart for cleaning. Ours are just in the junk drawer for cutting plastic.

      • +6

The “come apart for cleaning” is important. I have two sets of Wusthof scissors and I barely use the non pull apart set. It allows you to, fully, clean and dry the scissors.

      • +4

The Coles ones are far less powerfu

Scissors don't generate their own power. That comes from you

        • +1

No but the design is important and allows for things like better grip and mechanical advantage.

    • After trying a few, I bought these and have never looked back
      https://www.amazon.com.au/OXO-Grips-Spring-Loaded-Poultry-Sh…

      • +1

I bought the same OXO ones, and have been using it to cut Ramen spice packets 😂
What do you use them for?
        Chicken breast/thigh - I just use knives.
Lamb shoulder or roast piece….don't think it can be used.
Please tell me how you use them, so I can start taking advantage as well!

  • +1

These scissors are nicknamed The Beast

  • Bottoms up.. And the devil laughs

  • The Amazon version has a metal badge over the bolt, whereas the ebay version looks plastic. I prefer the metal cover which I think is more original. Thanks OP, bought one.

    • +4

The pictures on the amazon post show the metal button, but the reviews from October 2022 onwards show the plastic button. Looks like Amazon has the "new" stock too.

    • +2

I recently bought from this Amazon seller and got the plastic version

  • Great buy. I really like mine..looks good too.

  • 666

    • +3

      The scissors of The Beast.

  • I had a $10 off voucher :)

  • These or the Oxo Good Grips ones?

    • The metal on the Mundial extends the full length of the scissors, whilst the Oxo one ends within the handle it appears.

  • +1

Thks op brought one after left last one at work…. In colleague’s back….

    • +1

Where did you bring it from?

    • Your colleague must be a zombie

      • Aren’t your colleagues at work, zombies ?

  • thanks, bought a pair….had been wishing I hadn't given away the free shears as a present ( I got through Coles Masterchef offer during last year)

  • +2

I bought one last month with Amazon and it comes with a plastic badge, not the same as the picture shown

    • Do you remember whether it was made in China or Brazil?.

      • +1

        Mine are made in China
        Bought in last 12 months

      • +1

        Made in China

    • Better be metal.

      • not metal, cancel order now if you don't want plastic

      • No harden bamboo

  • What is the rrp?

    • +1

recently they have been a couple of dollars more expensive. Still worth it

    • +3

It's normal price is $17, but Amazon upped the price to $22 for a month so $15 looks like a better deal.

Everyone that ever posts a deal here need to start to learn using price history apps, cause many discounts on Amazon are fake.
Are these a good deal for $15 or $17, it sounds like they are a good product if you need high quality scissors/shears

      • Thanks!

  • Are these dishwasher safe?

    • They suggest 'hand wash' only

      • I always hand wash, then immediately dry, my good knives and scissors.

    • +1

My Mundial set came with these about 7 years ago.
Recommend not putting them in the dishwasher, ruined the red thing which has fallen off and rust underneath. Still work fine.

    • I have been washing this in dishwasher only for 1 year, it is still like new.

  • Nothing stated on mine, so I agree with haz
    hand washing.
Easy enough since they come apart.

  • I have a pear of these I use in the garden. They just sit out in a garden bed or other random places for the last 3 years, A bit of surface rust, but otherwise they work fine. Good quality. Think I'll grab a pair for actual kitchen use
