So if you are not in service with Telstra, you have to join a plan?

Seem like can add to cart with just Telstra ID login.

bassically same amount i got note 10+, s21 ultra and s22 ultra the same year they came each out

    • +3

You got an s22 Ultra for $500?!?

      • -4

basically the same so around $500 (+-$100)

  • If you already have a service with Telstra, you can buy outright without adding a plan. Unsure if you need to be a business plan customer.

    Sounds targeted

    • It is not targeted, just need a old telstra id like I have.

  • Hmmm, after seeing this post.

Thinking I should watch one of LTT's latest videos on this phone to see what's all the rave .

  • If you buy it outright does it only work with telstra?

    • If you buy a phone from Telstra on an Upfront plan, it will be unlocked.

      • I checked with Telstra, will be locked to Telstra network. Unlocking is $80 first 6 months / $25 after 6 months.

        • The person from Telstra is full of crap. These purchased outright come as completely factory network unlocked.

  • Chance of officeworks price beat?

  • Would this work if I just buy a prepaid sim at the same time? I don't have a telstra ID, so wondering if a prepaid sim is enough to get one.

I already have this phone from the Samsung deal last year, so want to buy a second for the Mrs. Great phone at this price.

  • Checked with customer service, any phone bought directly from Telstra is still locked to the Telstra network. Unlocking is $80 first 6 months / $25 after 6 months.

I think that is not what outright means.

Yep Batz you have been misled by those highly qualified Telstra 🙈
    😉

The crap they spouted is Only for PREPAID
Phones you get at Woolworths/Coles etc
and it is written on outside of box to that effect °afaik

Hi all, bought one of these at my local Telstra yesterday outright for $499 as advertised. Not locked to Telstra. In and out the shop. All setup and happy so far.

    • Did you need an telstra plan?

      • +2

No. I'm on Woolies Mobile. I have a Telstra account from years ago which apparently you need to have to link to for the warranty. But if you don't have one they can set this up for you, all you need is ID. Using my Woolies sim no issues.

        • Yeah, seem like no need to add a plan.

    • My phone arrived today and I quickly stick a Belong sim and whoa! it works.

I bought this deal. I wasn't a Telstra customer so I bought a $2 Sim to become one. Once I had a Telstra ID I bought the phone. My SIM is not on Telstra. Its on the Optus network and the phone works perfectly. So YES it is UNLOCKED! If you buy it outright without adding a plan.

    • Thanks for the comment! Just did the same

  • Any chance of getting a price match anywhere on this phone. Local stores have no stock. Tried Officeworks, was looking promising then eventually became no.

  • I had two of these - they are awesome however both of mine had display issues in dark environments - e.g watching YouTube in bed with the lights off and the phone set to low brightness.

Stupid ordering process is asking me to provide types of ID for verification none of which i even have. All just to try buy a phone outright. Thanks Telstra. No money for you.

I only used the Telstra ID previously for a BOOST mobile account from the past.

  • Purchased this deal lastnight by purchasing a $2 sim. Get a message this morning that grey is out of stock and phone has been placed on back order!

  • It must be sold out online. it says both the awesume grey and awesome mint colours are unavailable online.

  • OOS online.
I Went to the Telstra Store at Chadstone on Wednesday to find they were also sold out, however manager took my number and said she would call if they got stock. Wasn't expecting to hear back but got a message on Thursday morning saying they had stock and a phone was put aside for me.

  • Anyone know how this compares to Google Pixel 6a?
Amazon had ~$480 but delivery time stuck at TBA. I can’t keep waiting.

Looks like real competition, but I’m out of the loop. I thought the 6a was meant to be IT. But in my eyes/needs, A73 seems to beat it.
