  • Why is this so cheap?

  • Seems the 2200 processor is a 2.2ghz pentium d.

  • It's new right? Dell don't sell refurb stuff?

  • Well I just ordered one, and paid the extra for the 20" monitor.

Not sure if they'll actually complete the order tho lol

    Thanks dansor!

edit: are they likely to check that i am in fact a business?

    • Ditto here.

If they check, just say you're a sole trader and you are the business. Might work…

    • they never check if you are a business

  • Cheers - just ordered 2 and likewise did the upgrade to the 20" - With the family and friends PCs packing up recently it works out cheaper to by new than even try to rebuild the old machines.

    Thanks for a great bargain

  • Just ordered one with upgrade to 20", use coupon HK$7SKXL4F?932 for additional 5% discount, the final price came out to be $374.49. Great deal!

  • Is it worth upgrading to the Video Card rather than stick with the onboard plus is the standard OS ok for a business computer?

    • Leave the video card an buy from elsewhere (MSY / Shopping Square) - likewise for ram etc. Standard OS is fine if you dont want too many features.

    • The price for video card from DELL is not good, I bought the ATI 3450 video card at MSY for about $40 last month.

  • This will be an excellent Media Center Home Theatre PC

  • Just ordered one with the 20" monitor upgrade as well. This is so far the cheapest system I have ever seen.

  • They haven't charged my credit card yet. Don't think this will end up going through.

    • Give it about 24 hours for processing … we'll all know by tomorrow :-)

  • I've just purchased one with 20" monitor option. Thanks.

  • Extremely good deal. just ordered and Damn! I've missed the 5% coupon. :)

  • Excellent deal. Is this for real or likely to be a mistake? How long is it valid for?

A 19" LCD monitor alone is nearly $200, so essentially you are getting a PC for only $150!

  • The motherboard is an Intel G45 chipset, so its pretty new and supports a lot of the future stuff

  • I've ordered one too. Excellent deal.

  • Ordered one and saved $20 with 5% coupon :D

  • ih8parties, you clinched it for me, since the price of the monitor is already 200, pc only for 150 - 180, i grabbed one too!

  • Sounds great - ordered one for myself - don't really need one but at this price :-)

  • so tempted to buy, but i don't need it at all!

  • ordered onE!! cho good deal!

  • 4GB (2X2GB) NECC Dual Channel DDR2 800MHz SDRAM Memory [add $244.20]

LAWL $244 for extra 2gb, less than $40 at msy

    • I'm hoping there's more than 2 RAM slots.. Cause I'm hoping to transplant RAM for 4Gb..
If not, the MSY price for that extra 2Gb is more than $40 too (cause you'll have to buy 2x2Gb)

  • just out of curiosity, can this be used with the moneybackco 3% cashback?

    • you can try it…

      • I tried it.. wont find out for ages though I assume.
Will only work out to $12 so not much gained (or lost)

        • I got the 3% cash back…. Didn't try to tho, as it's hard to find the link.
Somehow I got the email from MBC this morning…. Harhar

          another $11.23. Nice

          • @Blinda: So despite not buying anything you still got cashback!!
            :-)
            Free money from Dell.. Nice..
Should have specced out the system to the max increase it's price!!

Just checked my MBC account and nothing..
I haven't had any form of email contact either, nor a phone call… it's like Dell never got my order in the first place!!
            Even less happy now :-(

  • What kind of wifi does it have?

    • No wifi it seems.

    • Buy a low profile PCI wifi card.

  • wow… thats a good deal

  • Does it come with DVI and digital sound output? I need a budget HTPC!!!

    • No mention of Digital Audio Out, but DVI is standard these days. Doubt it has HDMI out either.
I will be using mine as a HTPC, with a proper graphics card (with HDMI) and a USB Digital Audio out box.. but I own both already..

      • Don't think onboard has DVI. Saw a back panel view from Dell's website for 220S.
But you can easily get one by insert a low profile 2400pro which is about $25 from MSY
No digital audio output as well. need to buy audio card.

        • Interesting.. but doesn't bother me, like I said, I'll be transferring across a discreet Video card anyway..

    • Co-ask

  • i would recommend upgrading the monitor to 20' to get a DVI input for only 20 bucks or so,

  • Just bought one too, upgraded to 20". Have absolutely no need for another PC but how can you resist an offer like this. Hope it actually comes through :)

One thing to note is that it only has Windows Vista Home Basic and not Home Premium which means you miss out on goodies like Vista Media Centre - a must if you plan to use it as a HTPC. You will need to buy a Home Premium license and a MCE remote too (about $50).

EDIT: Wow, I must have just gotten in with seconds to spare. Will they actually fulfil the order? Hmm…

  • Taken down now? Getting an error message atm.

  • yep same… though just got an order in (minus discount)… prob get rejected i'm imagining..

  • I think they're now just realised something wrong…

  • So many orders :D

  • Web page doesn't working anymore. Got an error "Due to technical difficulties, we are unable to process your request at this time". :(

    Opps - didn't see elcheapo's message

  • we missed out i guesS!

  • thanks, great deal. Just bought one :D

  • Haha, i had one in my shopping cart when the page went down and changed it to 2 at checkout :P

Doubt they'll confirm it, can someone post when they get a confirmed order?

  • I got one! :)

  • how did you get in? doesn't load

    • I order it at 12:37, tried to get a mate on board at work but he missed out. Got the confirmation email from Dell too. Fingers crossed it gets delivered.

  • you got the confirmation also? i just got the acknowledgement and ordered at like 12:15pm. anyone else got confirmation yet? btw awesome find lol

    • Hmmm
I only got the acknowledgement email at 11:50….
I thought it was the same thing…

      • hopefully for our sake your right! but it says in the email step 2 is acknowledgement and then step 3 someone from dell will confirm it..zzz waiting game

        • Waiting game sucks. Let's play Hungry Hungry Hippo. Just making light of the situation :D

  • good to hear you made it, i always miss out!

  • i bet a dell vostro 220st that all orders will be canned.

    • D'oh D'oh D'oh D'oh

  • Still waiting for mine to be confirmed. I ordered 2 hrs ago :(

    • Same, and I ordered 4 hours ago.

Last time I ordered from Dell it took 11 hours to confirm, so we could still be in luck.

  • Last time I purchased the 24" monitor it took nearly 36 hours to be processed to 'order status'. So we still have hope

  • Was looking to see if I could cancel the order I made, and re-enter it, but the page now says:

"Due to technical difficulties, we are unable to process your request at this time."

    Hmm..not good.

    • I saw that message as well at 12:50ish but luckily I've added into my cart previously. So I've resume my previous checkout and got my Acknowledgment email.

  • I got an order confirm mail at 12:25 but my friend missed it out 10 minutes later…

    • Order confirm or just an acknowledgement?

      • Faint! I just found it's just an acknowledgment!!!

        • Last time I ordered a laptop from Dell. It took 4:30h to confirm the deal

  • I didn't have time to order, it's finished in the afternoon…..too late

  • i work for dell and sorry to burst your bubble guys but….

"MISTAKES: While all efforts are made to check pricing and other errors, inadvertent errors do occur from time to time and Dell reserves the right to decline orders arising from such errors. "

will be on most pages at the bottom of the dell website. so its most likely they will cancel all orders unfortunatly because i ordered one for myself… :( the only way they will be processed is if dell waive it and let the orders go through fingers crossed but i highly doubt it…

was a great deal though… had many people enquire about it

    • awww booooooo! but thanks for telling us, oh well i guess prob have to build my own now

    • If Woolworths charge you an incorrect price they give it to you for free ;-)

      • Love woolies
        Apparently, Dell run business differently.Sigh

Dell will not be responsible for typographical, pricing or other errors and reserves the right not to process orders based on such errors. Dell reserves the right not to process orders for any other reasonable reason as otherwise determined by Dell.

    • From what I have seen Dell seem to allow quite a few of these mistakes. Late comers due seem to have orders cancelled though.

Good luck tho those that got it (hoprefully). I had one saved i na cart, but this seems to have been delted.

  • Looks like the offer maybe over..

Due to technical difficulties, we are unable to process your request at this time.

  • let's see what's going to happen but more and more often I can see that once there is a good deal (thanks to ozbargain), something happens that ruins it. The only thing I feel once such a deal falls through is a deep frustration. Hopefully, this one is real as Dell is a big and respectful company (I've bought a desktop and a PDA from them before). Nevertheless I voted for the deal, does not matter if it was a fake or real one by Dell, cause the findings itself is just wonderful.

  • for those who got through the order, do you have e-value code?

    • R221122AU

  • did they just pull the deal off the site? I can't access due to "technical issues"…

    • Yeah its been gone for about 4 hours ^^^^

      • damn exams getting in the way of deals?

        • Don't worry, I'm sure all our orders will get cancelled soon anyway lol

  • For me it would mean that I won't have to worry about ANY Dell sales any more.
Why to bother ? If you see a good deal it will be cancelled, if it is not going to be cancelled it means that it was not a good one.

I still hope they'll show some respects to the buyers and confirm the submitted deals.
They closed their offer once they realised that can't probably sell their stuff at the advertised price. But it should be just like in any other store - you can change a price tag any time but it shouldn't affect people who already purchased goods.

    • Fingers crossed. They should have emailed people by now if it was an error. I ordered 8 hours ago now, and they've known of the error for at least 4.

  • anyone remember the SATA drives for $6.00 when they where something like $150 everywhere else :) I ordered 100 but they canceled the order :(

    • greed you….. 100…. sigh
