Won't get lower than this, thank you!

This was the best price I've ever seen.

      • For the all time low, it was literally $5 a few years ago.

    • Suspect you're right.

    • I got a couple years back for $5 or $10, pricing error but honoured.. just saying

  • If you change oil at home , how to dispose old oil ?

    • +10

Pour it into an old oil container and take it to SCA.

local tips will recycle for free, or supercheap auto take old oil.

Thanks didn't even know this was a thing

I usually just keep the old containers, put the old sump back into the container and take it back :)

          • @hoxygt: Yeah that's easier. What do you use to collect the oil ? Anything youd recommend?

            • +1

@life is suffering: Oil pan tray from repco or supercheap are fine for this.

              • +1

@Spendmore: Yep same - had an old $10 from SuperCheap or similar for nearly 20 years now, works great and has a little drain bit to drain the filter on.

@life is suffering: I cut the side from an old bottle and use it as a oil pan tray… Then you can open the lid and easily pour it into another bottle for disposal. There's usually more oil in a bottle than the car takes.

@hoxygt: I end up with a few old ones spare in the garage I use to pour from the drain tray into. When I have 4-5 x 5L containers I make a trip to the tip to drop them off for free.

If I don't have any containers in place for whatever reason, I just raid the recycling bin and get a few 2L juice or milk bottles back out to use.

    • Stain some wood with it.

    • My SCA asked me to not use milk containers. Not as sturdy as the old oil containers and can easily break and leak

Thanks, I bought two last time and only have 3L left after two services.

Ordered 6 thanks and waiting for SCA price match coupon in my inbox (requested via Live Chat)

    • Nice idea. I just did the same thing with SCA. Cheers

      • Wow.. how to do that!? you guys got the coupon?

        • Just use the live chat function on the SCA website, request a price match and send them the link for the repco price for the item. They sent the coupon a few hours later via email

        • Ordered another 4 at SCA using coupon + free delivery - arrived at my door the next morning.

          • @wipwar: Nice one, I just did the same. Lucky I read this though reckon I would have missed the free delivery xD …icing on the cake

Question for the OzB oil changers, why buy this Castrol Edge for $42 over Nulon or Gulf Western of the same viscosity which are around $35 on sale? (and more recent API specification)

    • You don't - Edge is incredibly overrated!

      • Castrol Edge A3/B4 is one of the best [affordable] synthetic oils around for 'typical' modern engines. Whether it is any better than the GW oil recently advertised is very questionable. Brand reputation has weight.
