As part of a 'Summer Financial Review' promotion with Westpac, the Australian Financial Review is offering free access to their website and iPad app until January 31st 2013 for those who register.

Normally, a digital subscription costs $59 for a month so this is a good offer for those who want to get a taste of the AFR before subscribing or who just want content to read during the summer through the iPad app!

    I have signed up but when I go to my account details to change my password, I found out that my anniversary date is 3 months from today. I wonder if it is valid for 3 months or only up to 31st Jan?

      Android tabs have very little presence in Australia. I think that'll change in the coming year with the Nexus 7 and 10 likely taking off (assuming Google ever gets around to releasing the Nexus 10 in retail!), but as of now the Ipad is still the go to tab for business folks in Aus, so it does make sense for the AFR to focus only on Apple right now.

    I'm all for free stuff but how can they warrant charging $18 a week for this content?? when my local, The Canberra Times, does all this for free …

    Now roll on all the jibes about Canberra/Politicians/Roundabouts etc etc etc

      Cos the CT just regurgitates what the SMH has written the day before. So its free but already out of date.

      The AFR is aimed at a different market anyway - I wonder how many people actually pay for the paper (as opposed to having their employer/business pay for the paper)
