[VIC] Free Access to Microsoft Office for Students & Teachers (Edupass Account Required) @ Arc

200

Students in years Foundation to Year 6 use Office 365 as learning tool. It is an internet-based service that allows students and teachers to work collaboratively on learning activities and share their work with others. For example, if a teacher posts a video of themselves teaching on the class blog, students will use their school email address, username and password to access this video. In the older year levels, students use applications such as Office Class Notebook to access and collaborate for their learning

From free house access to steal car keys, to free shopliftings to free Microsoft access. Change is coming at Melbs πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½

if only the machete bins were free

    • Is it tomorrow Sunday for the changes to happen? Wondering if it's too late now to fly to Melba.

Why they offered free Mosquitos for Queenslander, but free Microsoft for Victorian?

    • +1

Maybe the VIC people are the control group in Mosquito test.

      • 100% correct, dang we are in the experiment as well

I just sign into my work account through office on my home PC, works for me.

you can use 'libreoffice' (basically knockoff MS office) + whatever email you have already if you want

You can also find a grave - perhaps a MassGrave, i hear they have MS office there too.. A friend told me that though.

It’s a subscription. They will start charging you as soon as you drop out of this programme. Or you lose access to your documents.

Just download LibreOffice. For most use-cases this is easily sufficient.

    • Agreed. If you don't like the feel of libreoffice just use google docs - I know they scrape your data but MS is doing the same thing anyways, and google at least has a reputation as being an impenetrable fort when it comes to cybersecurity (relative to MS)

The online MS Office version is free if people don't mind

  • Is there a way to remove the 'activate' watermark on Windows 10 from 2018?

It's an education version. Guess it used to get activated simply by logging in to the school network?

Now running a Mac, but pulled out the old HP book yesterday to do some AC3 movie conversion. Now has a watermark and activation message I have never seen before.

Still got edu email etc. But can't login the windows machine on site with it anymore.

Whats the easiest way to make it go away. Ps. I'm just a user on the laptop. Don't have admin rights. But still have my edu account (free registration perhaps )?

    • Just stick with pages / numbers / keynote

      • I mean activate actual Windows 10 itself?

It's not my copy of Windows, it come with the laptop.

Watched a movie and the "activate now" watermark is on screen.

Quick Google showed a patcher ..but it looked a bit scammy.

        • There's a something called massgrave, not sure it's allowed to be linked here but the github is easy to find.

          • @JerraJones: Cheers, will check it out.

*Edit - so …I'm a Gen x'r that has no clue what this means. A lot of abbreviations that mean nothing. Think I remember someone saying the education windows is KMS (whatever that is).
Do I just download the package and run it? As a user?

          • @JerraJones: Cheers legend. Method 2 worked. Had to download with my phone (as I didnt have the rights to disable windows defender), Copied files across to my laptop, then right clicked and chose run as an administrator.

            Registration watermark is gone.

  • I get 365 free through work and it's dog shit. I've tried multiple times to download desktop on the seven seas but it never seems to crack properly. Browsers are not fit for purpose for office apps.

  • Mass grave

  • My kids private primary school in Perth also gets a full O365 licence, which is pretty cool. I've got it installed on my kids PC, saves me having to buy an O365 family membership. We use other methods of cloud storage that are cheaper, so haven't needed the 5x 1TB OneDrive as yet, like many families do.

Nice to see this rolled out all over VIC.

  • any windows server keys ?.
