Belkin N600 Wireless Modem Router $68 (RRP $169) - Officeworks Highett [VIC]

80

Dunno if this is a pricing error but the price tag showed $68 and scanned up at that price.
Cheapest I've seen for it is $115 at JB Hifi.

    price match at Officeworks…oh, wait…doh!

  • Reviews of these aren't that great but good price. Thanks OP.

  • I own this model, and it's a great device, never had any probs.

  • Despite looking similar to its modemless cousin, the N600 DB wireless modem/router is a different entity. Problems with Intel and Ralink chipsets, worrying heat output, middling wireless performance and long waits between changing settings mean that this one should be passed over.

    • At $68 it's worth a try - especially if you're not really in the market for a new one and it's a step up from your old modem/router. Poster above is happy with his, and for the money you can't really do any better. I'll grab one and see how it rolls!

      • This is terrible advice.

For $10-$20, sure, that's not much to "try" something that is KNOWN to have several issues.

However, at this price there are many other options available.

FYI, I bought a $20 Belkin router before and it is nothing but trouble. Constant dropouts that required me to restart the model by pulling out the power was my main issue.

But I bought another branded $20 router on sale and it is a very solid performer that has never given me problems.

        • I guess one guys $20 is another's $68… and a bargain to some isn't necessarily a bargain to another as you have demonstrated. .

I've seen plenty of routers cheaper but rarely reasonably specc'd "modem routers" for this money.

For me, it's worth splashing down $68 on a RRP $200 item to have a play. Others can make their own minds up regardless of my "terrible advice" in the prior post ;)

          Cheers.

  • thanks. good one. was looking for a modem router to replace mine. all good

  • how do I get my local OW in Sydney to give me that price?

    • i will try my luck tomorrow. not sure. show them the picture of the receipt i guess

  • UPDATE. bought it for 75 dollars. they reduced the shelf price but wouldnt go down on the price to 68
