The brand has a poor rep, e.g.: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-14082886

although they address the problem here http://www.current.com.au/2013/04/02/article/Beko-Australia-…

They do not have a poor rep. bbc.co.uk isn't a rep!

Bing lee online price $749 but you got it for $715 . Good price.

Did they give you Bonus One Year Supply of OMO Washing Powder or not?

    • Missed that offer mate! I called and checked they said apparently the offer has just begun over the weekend.

      • The Binglee manager called me back to say that he will give me the free OMO for a year as a good will gesture though he need not have given it to me as the deal only started couple of days after I purchased the Washing machine. I have had pretty good experience with Binglee.

Beko Appliances linked to 11 deaths...

Although they are addressing the issues now, the amount of time it's taken for them to acknowledge and act accordingly - even after getting a letter in June 2010 from London Fire Brigade re their fridge freezers being a "potential threat to life"! - means I wouldn't have one of their appliances in my home.
Their gas cookers gassed people in their homes. I didn't get to washing machines sorry…I didn't need to read anymore….

I've had a BEKO fridge for over 5 years now and it hasn't missed a beat. Before that I had an expensive Amana fridge that would freeze up a duct between the freezer and fridge compartments and the fridge wouldn't cool. Would have to turn off everything and let it defrost to get it to start to work again. Every white good manufacturer has had products that have been dodgy. Smeg had a gas cooktop that would spontaneously explode two years ago and this was suppose to be premium bit of gear as well.

Mazda, Nissan, Toyota and Honda have just recalled 3 million cars because their airbags would exploded and send plastic shrapnel throughout the car. That doesn’t mean you wouldn’t buy one of their cars. Beko are huge in Europe and they aren't a backyard manufacturer. Would definitely buy another Beko product. And no, I’m not a Beko or Bing Lee rep.

    • Good to hear that your Beko is still going. I hope the same with my new beko washer. I have used it twice and its had been pretty good wash.

  • Does anyone know if the imported whitegoods are tested in Australia by an independent body?
