  • Is this the older model?

    • The ME116 is the new Range - MD213 is old range.

  • Good deal on i7. However, didn't find ME116 online.
How did you get 2.9GHz with i7? Apple online store doesnt offer that.

    • I believe it's the late 2012 model that's been upgraded with the optional i7 and 512GB flash storage.
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacBook_Pro#Technical_specifica…

      • This ME116 is the new range

        • Can you point us to the Apple website that has a description of the 'ME116'?

        • Can you confirm if the box actually reads "ME116X/A"? ie shipping with Australian plugs as opposed to say ME116B/A or ME116LL/A?

        • We dont sell non Australian product, especially as we are Apple AUthorised.. i dont think that would go down well :)

        • its custom to order, IE there is nothing on the apple website, unless you build a CTO to the same spec.

      • Similar product - but ours is new and has a free external 500gb drive.

    • The Retina 13-inch models started as MD212 and MD213. Earlier this year, ME662 replaced MD213.

You could still upgrade the MD212 to the 2.9GHz i7, but the ME662 goes to 3.0GHz i7.

Is it the latest? Arguable. A Google search of ME116 shows some limited circulation. Good price for the specs though.

      • Me116 is the new series. because its a custom to order model. i daresay less people order CTO.. hence less talk about it.

    • its custom to order - built in QTY - NEW series.

  • Intel HD Graphics 4000 :-(

    • It plays Starcraft II just fine!

  • Good price. Can you please confirm that these are in stock and ready to ship? If I order one tonight, when is it likely to ship?

    • Sorry, should have mentioned that I'm interested in the ME116 model.

      • +1

In stock and ready to ship - orders paid by tomorrow - should ship tomorrow. worst case next business day.

        • Excellent. Will place the order now. Look forward to receiving it!

  • We just grabbed the MD213X/A for my mum for her birthday/mother's day present. Seems like a great price, seeming we were looking at the Macbook Air 13" for $1300.

My mum will now have a friggin' powerhorse to browse the TVSN shopping website, yet I will still be stuck on my 2011 MBA :(

    • haha.. just swop it when she isnt looking..

      only 1 like… sadface ):

  • the MD213X/A is no different to the current retina 2.5ghz macbook pro right? Besides the optional 256gb ssd thats been added?

    • the MD213 is the older series

  • I would like to see the rep answer the question asked by quarrymaster some time ago.

Can you confirm if the box actually reads "ME116X/A"? ie shipping with Australian plugs as opposed to say ME116B/A or ME116LL/A?

    • We dont sell grey import laptops. EVER. we are apple authorised and everything we sell has an Australian plug!! :)

the reason the deal is good, is because we make no money - no hidden catch. lol

      • the reason the deal is good, is because we make no money

        that's where he lost me.

        • People seem to think the cheap price comes with a catch. no catch basically.

  • I don't understand why there are two levels of service offered by Megabuy. On Ozbargain, it appears the rep is quite responsive, whereas, the feedback from Whirlpool is quite the opposite.

    • thanks :)

without getting ripped apart for responding……. (waits for foobar)

count how many people on whirlpool (50? 100?) and contrast against the 250,000+ orders we have processed since opening.

Most orders go off without a hitch and people are happy with us.

      waits patiently

      • On the contrary, I always support the local retailers and encourage them all to respond to any criticisms they may receive. But as you say, if there are only a small number of complaints, then it shouldn't be too much of an issue to resolve them all.

And since you are quite active here on your own deals, it won't be too much of a hassle to address issues that are conveniently located in one thread:-
        http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1691430&p…

PS: You will see in my posting history, I have defended several local retailers and have not attacked any others.

    • I was on the fence. All of the negative feedback shook me a little, but considering their responsiveness here on OzBargain, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and placed the order yesterday afternoon.

As of now, my order is still stuck on "Confirming Payment", despite me having complied to their verification request this morning. Let's see if it ships by the end of the day!

      • Totally thrilled that the MacBook Pro arrived this afternoon. Taking into account ANZAC Day and the weekend, it took three business days from order to delivery.

  • Order number? we should still have about an hour til shipping cut off today.

    • Just sent it to you via private message.

  • Not happy, why didn't I get shipping confirmation today?

Will never get it by Friday at this rate :(

    Order #206098

  • Hi Rep - interested in the MD213X/A deal. Travelling o/s on May 28 - do you issue a full tax invoice so I can claim from TRS? Thanks.

  • Is this deal active again? How quick will they be shipped after ordering?
