    • This is true, however that outlet has a selection of 21 ties - we've got a range of 70 odd. We may not be cheaper but we think the wider range will suit those looking for something that will suit their suits/shirts/style.

We may not be cheaper but we think the wider range

But this site is for posting bargains

        • Understood, and those who know the quality of our products and value a wider range know this is a bargain.

        • +1

Have to agree with JV there…

        • If you can beat 3 for $20, then it would be a bargain…

        • -1

You linked to a bargain that you negged, now you're in here recommending it as a bargain?

        • -1

I negged it because of the misleading and deceptive discount claims.

That doesn't change the fact they those silk ties are cheaper than these ones, so I don't see how this is a bargain…

        • But is the quality the same as focus ties?? Ive bought from focus ties twice (you will see my comments in other posts on their deals, heck i even posted one of their deals once after recieving an email offer from them!) and i can once again confirm these ties are legit quality similar to what you would pay $50 for at a menswear store/large department store. Much better then some dodgy 3 for $20 that could be seconds or anything.

Also postage is usually free when u buy 2 or more ties and is fast - ive recieved in WA from them within about 3-4 business days.

        • +2

          Much better then some dodgy

How do you know that the 'iamstylish' silk ties are dodgy or poor quality?

If you know something, please post the details so we can take that into account when deciding which ones to buy.

        • +1

Fair call - dodgy probably isnt the word. They could very well be good ties. My concern though is if they are giving misleading discounts then i would also have concerns what i end up with from them. But who knows good luck to iamstylish. What i can vouch for is the quality of the ties Focus ties have delivered to me and for $15 each i can confirm at that price it is a bargain.

Hopefully my post can help alleviate any concerns you have about how this is/is not actually a bargain. A bargain isnt always the cheapest its a balance of quality/price that is delivered.

Posting a comment of "but this site is for posting bargains" is equally as misleading to other users when you haven't tried focus's ties before and can compare quality to price.

"but this site is for posting bargains" is equally as misleading

          read the link below.

"This is the place where we share the best bargains in Australia and share them with each other."

          http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:about

Both my first 2 posts are 'statements of fact' and in no way are misleading.

          Read them again…

        • "but this site is for posting bargains"

Yes this is very much is a statement of fact, but it also can be construed when posted directly on a deal that the particular deal in question is in fact not a bargain when you dont have any experience with the particular product in question. For the price and quality in some peoples eyes this may be "a bargain" and myself and another poster have shared our thoughts on this product based on previous purchases. So if you have concerns on whether its a bargain ask for previous users experiences.

A random "statement of fact" like that adds no information good or bad to the deal for someone making up their mind. May be best you keep them for forum discussions

          Hey JV,
Do you know a site offering the same range for a cheaper price?
If not then this site is cheaper and it's a bargain.

Those looking at buying more than 3-4 ties might want to check out The Tie Bar.

Flat rate shipping (US$26 for Fedex 3-5 day, US$13-20 for USPS), and a choice of about 2,200 ties at US$15 each ($20 for long ties) and a nice range of other accessories.

    • +1

Great ties for the price. Shipping is a bit though so as said get a few to make it worthwhile.

  • Do you have any 6 or 7 fold ties?

Did you miss the conversation between tremell and JV mate?

          — after the rant below I realised that you are a competitor of ours that had a massively failed deal recently due to quality control issues (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/94400). Surely you should go fix your own issues before writing negative comments about others - men in glass houses should not throw stones. Also - it's actually against the guidelines to Neg a competitors deal: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelines?s[]=competitor so you might wan't to remove your vote back to a 'no vote'. Good one buddy.

It's not like we are Harvey Norman selling a Samsung XYZ TV for $1000 and JB Hifi is advertising it for $500 - we are selling a different quality product to our competitor, they aren't the same.

Here is one example - a previous buyer from the other deal complained that the ties are extremely short, too short to tie a double windsor. How useful is that? Not at all. With a focus on quality and what our customers want, we made our ties 150cm long (longer than the standard by 10cm). Different product.

Price without regard to comparison of quality makes no sense to me, but hey, clearly this thread shows that some agree with that and some don't. Either way, the deal ends at midnight so get a head start in searching for the next deal you want to neg.

I dunno if I want to commit to buying 4 ties from a tie shop that seems to have their own branded ties, but aren't an established brand yet. You may have testimonials, but that doesn't quite convince me.
I might be inclined if say it was 1 or 2 for $15 each? I gotta try first!
