Macy's Friend & Family Sale - 25% off Regular, Sale & Clearance Prices

120
FRIEND

Just got a new promo code from Macy's — FRIEND which gives you "25% off select regular, sale & clearance prices during the Friends & Family Sale" between 23-29 April. Not too sure whether it's site wide but I've tried a few items under Men and seems to be working.

Also remember the Cashback — BucksBack is also doing 3% on all Macy's purchases at the moment.

Edit: Also see this comment regarding to free delivery on $100+ spend when using Mastercard.

  • Shipping costs for a pair of jeans is $32, no thanks.

  • +8

Use a mastercard and enter the code MC51 at the payment page (not the cart page) and get free shipping over $100. Just tested, works! (and they stack)

  • Macy's use FiftyOne for international shipping - stores that do seem to either have crazy shipping costs (like Macys) or inflated prices for people from Australia (J. Crew's 50% markup for Australian orders).

Best bet? Assisted purchases via Shipito or PriceUSA or similar.

    • Have you had any experience with assisted purchases?

I've been meaning to give it a go, but I have no idea how much it might cost (seeing as I am clueless when it comes to weight and box dimensions). Also, what do you do if you want to exchange or return something?

      • Amazon lists dimensions and weight on every item so perhaps check there for the item or something similar…

      • I've only used Shipito for assisted buys (and a lot as a forwarder).

They charge $8.50 (plus cost of purchase, sales tax, bank fee, commission, and shipping) for up to 10 unique items in a transaction, so it's fairly reasonable - their shipping rates have been $20-30 cheaper for me than the stores I've used them with. Details are on their page.

PriceUSA has some other advantages - especially if you're after NikeID (custom Nike), and more complex orders. Haven't used them though, your mileage may vary.

Returns vary (haven't had to use them) - you'll have to return through the forwarder. I believe PriceUSA offer a return protection package (something like you pay 20% of shipping cost and they'll cover you for return shipping/return costs).

  • Never shopped for cloth in US. How is the fit? Is the size on the bigger or smaller end?

    • Depends entirely on brand. There will be size guides for each brand/item on its page - measure something up that fits you and compare.

  • Placed an order two days ago, order got cancelled claiming some items had run out of stock so replaced the order today.

I know in the past Macys used to cancel orders seemingly for no reason, I thought it was because they were unhappy with the amount of codes I was using. Hopefully they don't do that anymore and the items genuinely were out of stock :)
