  • Looks like its posting from O/S and with 30 days warranty sounds dodgy. Could be fake like their havaianas deal.

    • I hope not. I just bought the Targus Asus laptop backpack. If it's real a $150 backpack down to $30 delivered isn't a bad deal.

It might be getting sent from the US where there's a 30 day manufacturer warranty exists.

Any way to tell a fake from a real? If this company is dodgy maybe they should be banned on Ozbargain.

Their customer service seems pretty keen on keeping good compliance with paypal. Anyone who requested a refund from the Havaianas deal got one. I guess its worth a punt. If its fake just file a paypal dispute.

Yeah it's obviously getting shipped from the US considering the 30 day manufacturer warranty and that the page says it's getting shipped from an external warehouse via international courier and taking up to 20 business days to arrive. If it was Australian stock it would have a 1 year warranty.

I think the Targus 15.6 inch Asus backpack for $30 is a rather good buy. Was $149.95 apparently according to Top Buy down to 80% off at the moment. Ordered that one.

The web site was running a bit slow earlier so i think it's getting hammered. Lucky for me i got in early thanks to the OP :)

You can tell how many backpacks have already been sold says so at the top right under the remaining time. 120 sold so far. Some how i think they're going to get sold out before the 60 hours is up.

  • Thanks OP. I have an ASUS laptop so obviously I bought the ASUS backpack.

Too many good deals on Ozbargain today. Can't stop myself buying stuff lol.

    • I have an emachines laptop but it didn't stop me buying the ASUS laptop backpack too. You can put any 15" laptop in it :)

  • Thank you. Been waiting for another Targus special. My old laptop bag is on it's last legs, so this couldn't have come up at a better time.

  • Ordered 2 iPad cases from them and got an email stating there were quality issues and refunded my money. I think topbuy is selling something they don't have and hope to source the products later to fulfill your orders after taking your money. Worst come to worst they just make up an excuse and refund your money.

  • They've got a bunch of Wenger Swissgear bags on sale as well:
    http://www.topbuy.com.au/tbcart/pc/ts_home.asp?tsid=102

    • It says that Wenger deal has ended.

  • I don't know what's going on but the Top Buy website isn't responding here today is like it's gone dead. Was trying to find out the order status of the ASUS laptop backpack which i bought that 5 days ago.

  • My ASUS laptop backpack has been shipped today according to the order status. Any one else had theirs shipped?.

  • Actually my order status now shows as being shipped out today on 6/5/2013. Must have been sitting in a warehouse dispatch room for the past 4 days.

  • Still not arrived even it states shipped on 30/Apr, but also estimates a 7 - 20 Business day shipping time. Hope it arrives soon, and anyone would post a method to check if it's fake by that time.

    • I think they must have been shipped from some overseas warehouse or else it would have arrived here by now being 5 business days. It would explain the estimated 7-20 business day shipping. Also the tracking number that was given doesn't work on the Australia Post tracker so it wasn't sent through Australia Post from inside of Australia. I can't seem to figure out which shipping company the tracking number even belongs to. Maybe some chinese shipping company who knows.

    • I noticed my order said shipped on 2nd May but then it wasn't until 6th May that it came up saying order dispatched under the Order Status. Seems it was marked as shipped on 30th Apr but the parcel sat in a warehouse dispatch area until 6th May when it was finally dispatched out of the warehouse. Yours was probably also sitting in a warehouse for days after 30th April waiting for other peoples parcels to be gathered up with it into the one bulk shipment. So basically it doesn't make a difference what date it says shipped it's the dispatched date that matters because that's when they dispatch parcels out of the warehouse in bulk dispatch shipments. My parcel might have been on the same dispatch shipment as yours.

It takes a few days more to get to here in regional QLD.

  • Received mine today, quality looks good, I don't have any question on the bag.

  • Mine hasn't arrived yet but it was dispatched on the 6th May.

  • I received mine today too. It seems to be the legit item as the ASUS part number on the package is correct. It's a Targus ASUS G73 (Republic of Gamers) laptop backpack. ASUS normally sells these with ASUS G73 gaming laptops but you can buy it separately. It's actually a 17" laptop backpack. Fits my eMachines 15" laptop nicely. Bargain for $30. Cheapest 17" laptop backpack at Officeworks is $98.72.

It seems to be identical to the ASUS laptop backpack in this youtube video on this web page

Then again this backpack is on sale direct from Targus for $49.99 USD + delivery but still $30 delivered from this deal is cheaper.

  • My two turned up today (one Wenger Swissgear and one Targus)Both have faulty zips - looks like they're passing off 2nds….

    • Strange. My Targus backpack turned up in perfect condition. Well it was in the factory sealed Targus plastic bag.

I doubt that your two bags were factory seconds. Could have been some how damaged during transport.

      • Have you checked all the zips?? The zips work but are slightly mis-aligned.

        • Yes. No problems here all the zips work absolutely fine. Mine is the Targus ASUS (Republic of Gamers) laptop backpack. Could be better quality too.

Sounds like you could of had back luck with the zips on yours got damaged during shipping. I doubt two laptop backpacks from two different manufacturers would come out of the factory with damaged zippers.

        • They would if they were 2nds…And sold off really cheap…Like they were.

        • Well if that was the case i'm very lucky to have one in perfect condition without a single fault. Also if it was a factory second i don't think it would have been sealed in a factory sealed bag.

I still think my theory of your backpack zippers got damaged during shipping is more plausible. Perhaps there was a considerable force pushing on them.

        • Two backpacks in two different packages? I must be Mr Unlucky. Interested to see what our fellow ozbargainers receive…How does a zip get damaged in transit!!

        • Just compared the Targus backpack to my works Targus backpack….Massive difference in quality.

        • It could have been two backpacks in the one parcel. Mine came delivered in one of those large cardboard tough bags you find at Australia Post.

        • No. Two backpacks in two different packages. Mine perhaps were cheap for a reason. You got lucky. Or my case is unique. Why were they cheap?

        • It was a limited time sale price. Mine was the $30 on this sale the same as all those others.

It's now currently $69.95 from Topbuy. I doubt that it's factory second as this backpack is also currently $49.99 USD direct from the ASUS online store.

It sounds like you've had rather rotten luck.

        • With you're knowledge I'm sure Topbuy would love to give you a job as a rep…..Hmmmm

  • Any one else get their laptop backpack yet?. Got any comments of the quality of it?.

Surely there must have been more than just 2 or 3 people who've got theirs.

  • I got my ASUS backpack almost 2 weeks ago. Not only it looks/feels new, there are 'bonus gifts' inside the bag (laptop keyboard protector, phone pouch and a larger pouch). Anyone else got the same items?

    • That's because it is brand new. My ASUS backpack also came with that bonus stuff inside of it.

  • I won't buy from Topbuy again, my two backpacks were definitely seconds. You pay your money, you take you're chances…..

    • Strange how others seem to be getting brand new goods.

      • My goods are brand new, just 2nds. Others? How many others? 10? 20? 30?……
