Oh mate, i dont want to be negative here but you posted the tripods as a bargain but there was a guy before you that brought 5 and you took the last one.
Sounds like this was your store only and not nation wide.
If it is Nation wide then let me know so i can change my comment.

It is prob nationwide. As all their systems are linked together. The prices on the shelf may differ, but once you scan it, it will come up as the cheaper price.

All targets are doing a massive stock take sale, so they are clearing out a lot of old stock, so they can get newer model stock.

    • I got one in Dandenong, it is nation wide.

  • Bought that tripod for just under $20 from target last year and that was on 50% off iirc.
So this is a very good price

  • I have seen these tripods at a few Targets.

It will be a poor quality tripod. Better to invest more money in a good tripod.

    • Slik is a pretty good brand.

      • Slik is a brand, full stop.

the quality of this tripod is really crap.

The good: The tripod feels solid. The legs are made of good quality metal. Paint finish is good. Quick release shoe and level bubble are handy features. Comes with a carry bag.

The bad: The head and the leg locks are plastic. Out of the box everything locks tight, but I expect they will become loose with age.

The verdict: Bottom of the range tripod from a good company. Not rubbish by any means but durability is unknown. At less than $5 it is a bargain.

          @alvian,
          totally agree.

  • Plenty of stock at Belconnen ACT, about 20 or so around 3pm.

I got two last night. Note these are really shite, but for light point and shoot or compact cameras is fine. It does hold my nikon d5100 plys 18-300mm lens though. Max height apprix 1.5m.

    Max load capacity is 1.3kg

I bought one of these tripods about a year ago for $19 and was stoked with the price then so this is a really good buy.

Mine's lasted well and I still use it with my m4/3 camera with 55-200mm lens with no dramas. Quick release plate on these are really handy and I'm pretty sure they go for roughly $10-15 by themselves, so for the price you can't really go wrong.

I used to work at target (frankston) about four-five months ago, and I know there was a huge pile of them out the back that had been sitting there for a couple of years, so it could be worth asking a staff member if there are any out the back.

  • Got one for 40 from Sydney in Dec last year. Great product for its price. Only issue is the removable camera holder (Quick release plate) keeps getting mispalced. Besides it get a bit tricky to put it in a camera bag with the Quick release plate on it.

  • Hey OP thx dor the post. Went ro my local target and got myself all the dvd racks.

Thanks a bunch Alvian, I just grabbed one of these…thank goodness for admin days! :)

Absolute steal at under five bucks, feels pretty damn solid to me; and as you've noted it's no high end Manfrotto; but the quality well exceeds the price here…it's interesting to note that only on OzB would you find people willing to bitch about a $5 tripod! ;)

  • Thanks so much - managed to get my local Target to hold one for me cos I am disabled, will match the slik mini i got on the other recent deal thru pricematch at officeworks. The heads are even interchangable so i may fly with both pods and one head to save weight even.
Others who got these - you should still be able to get the slik mini at teds or pricematched for $15.
