HTC One $680 - JB Hi-Fi Forest Hill VIC

97

Hey guys,

Went to Forest Hill (VIC) and got the HTC One Silver 4G unbranded phone today. The rep gave me a discount from the RRP of $696 to $680! :)

Slight gap at the top, but not too concerning for me. I'm happy.

    Slight gap at the top
discount from the RRP of $696 to $680!

So you bought a damaged item and you saved 2%… wow !!!

    • +8

thinking the same, not much of a discount for inferior goods…. :/

  • +8

Bahaha are you serious op? $16 dollars off rrp for a damaged phone and its a bargain?

  • +13

Please return it OP. not worth it.

You have been conned by JB.

    • +3

      100% agree

  • +3

No it's not damaged, probably 50% of the Ones have gaps… it's the first batch after all… just depends on how picky you are.

    • Yep, heaps of people have reported to have it. This isn't a bad price for a local brick and mortar store (overseas stock supposedly has issues with our 3G).

  • +4

I'm at a loss to how this would benefit anyone here unless all their stock is damaged?

  • +13

How many other damaged ones did they have is stock so we can all rush down and save $16?

    • +2

The poster probably got your point after your first snide comment. How many more times are you going to keep hammering away at them? Not cool - irrespective if the post was nonsense or not!

  • +9

i think you guys are misunderstanding, the poster would have received the discount regardless of the gap, and the gap is a manufacturing issue not related to JBHIFI that has affected a large majority of handsets, so JBHIFI was handing out that discount on a brand new phone, not a damaged one (at least not in their opinion)

    • Correct

    • +4

the poster would have received the discount regardless of the gap

I doubt it, otherwise, why mention it at all ???

      • +3

Because most of the people who are interested in buying this phone are aware of the issue,
and if you are not happy with the phone (Gaps, dead pixels etc) you can take it back and get a new one.
I got one from Virgin and there were dead pixels so I'm getting a replacement, like I said, first batch issues.

    • +1

It is if they want to get rid of the damage phones..

  • +6

OMG i feel so sorry for this guy! and one sounded so happy as well XD

  • +6

sorry mate. $16 of an RRP is hardly a discount.

  • +3

You guys don't get it. The price has nothing to do with the "gap". Almost every single htc one has a hairline "gap" on top and/or bottom. Most ppl aren't too fussed (nor notice) as its just cosmetic, but some ppl decide to return them for exchange.

    • Rather wait for the proper fix.

  • LMAO! This has to be a troll job!

    Worst bargain ever.

    OP, Thanks for the lols!

    $16 off from $696 LOL

    • +4

It's still the cheapest I've seen for local and unbranded stock. I'm glad the op posted.

$400 from telstra if you know someone working there.

    • +8

Yeah people are all focused on the gap instead of the price :-P

Gap or no gap this deal sucks!

    • +1

I agree my first thought when I saw this thread was troll.

  • Telstra has them for 624 outright!!

    • In store? you sure you saw HTC One?
(thinking of going to Telstra first thing tomorrow if it's true)

      • Campsie,NSW and Yes in store. I'm pretty sure it was HTC one btwn boom sound is awesome :)

    • I was there today, they were $768 or something similar at Telstra.

      • ditto….$768 at Telstra

      • the lady told me $624 :S ill go ask them again tomorrow

        • Shes probably buying for $400 on a staff plan and selling it for a profit

  • Awesome phone! Hope the OP is happy with the purchase

  • +2

Lol probably bought this just to post on here

  • +3

why are people knowingly handing over almost $700 for a device thats borked out of the box , and has widespread documented QC issues ?.

I got my XZ at just under RRP , and in no way in hell would I have accepted less then 100% out of the box.

Bought an experia, i thought my screen was broken so I returned it… found out its normal since its a crappy tft lol.

  • +2

I'm sorry, but this is not a deal!!!!!!

  • +1

Wow I got my Galaxy S3 from JB for $680 not long after release when they were $777 RRP (June or July last year). I'm pretty sure they have more room to move than $16

  • The RRP is $768 from JB

Went Eastgardens JB on Saturday and they said there was one returned with tiny scratch on the bottom

Ask the rep could he sell cheaper, he said yes, around $720

Told him I could get it at Mobileciti for $689

He said he could not beat that price, even with a scratch!

    • imagine the shock if you told him you can get grey imports at a fraction of that price.

      • JB knows what grey imports are

  • I can give you discount, a Telstra HTC One silver brand new, in box for $600 + shipping

    • Sounds very nice

  • +1

$16 is poor bargaining skills for a 700$ item tbh.
    try harder young padawan.

  • "Rep gave you a discount" doesnt mean that every other JB Rep will give other people discount, hence why this is NOT A DEAL.
