    $5 pickup

    What's this for?

      Profit

    • it's the processing fee. I was out of words for the title. Couldn't manage to squeeze this through

      • +9

        it's the processing fee.

What is being processed? They are selling you a printer and you pick it up.

        Sounds very dodgy to me…

its a processing and handling fee. Its not so different from the $5 fee used to pickup an item from the local officework store when bought from online.

my local officeworks store has never charged me a collection fee. I just walk in and pick it up…

        • Mine did. Or at least they used to back in 2011. Mind you, I ordered a leather chair weighing about 20 kg

        • +1

Agreed. Would prefer they add $5 to the product. Then make the delivery $5 cheaper.

What happens if you're buying a pen for 50c?

        • Don't.

      • In that case every person go in to buy something have to pay $5 processing fee.

      What's this for?

An additional price which has to be taken into account with GreenBoxIT. Their Mosman shop is just a shopfront and holds very little stock. But the same could be said of ARC Computer in Chatswood and they don't charge a pickup fee. Possibly GBIT is doing this to look cheaper on staticice and other price comparison sites. Good that the OP pointed this out.

As a long time Ozbargainer - WTF you should know that this is a red flag for most here.

    So please be gentle

Bit like coming into a party and walking the first time, saying please be nice I'm new.

It infers we are not nice people, and if we really were, we wouldn't share here.

Maybe its time to learn how to edit your post and remove the insult.

    • +1

      Haha. Done :)

    • +2

I never understand why this gets people so upset? Lighten up.

      • So, we all have opinions, its been removed, so we can all lighten up, as the issue is gone :)

    • +2

      Yeah, seriously dude chill out.

that's funny, I've seen heaps of people get smashed on their first post on this site.

  • Product price itself is even cheaper than the $69 i paid for it from Joyce Mayne although have to pay postage from Greenboxit so that would make the total price more expensive than what i paid.

    • yes but for those people choosing to pick up (QLD, NSW), they can save as much as $10. For people living in the other states, they can buy this printer for $64 from their local MSY.

btw how's the printer working for you mate?

  • This is a better deal for a Laser printer if you can actually find a store which has it in stock. There's a few in post code 7000, 5000 and 2000. Tasmania has it in stock at the Hastings store.

    • Well yes for a laser printer. But i was looking for a mono wireless printer and according to staticice, this is the cheapest there is out there.

      • Well i guess so if your only choice is a mono wireless printer. The Canon laser printer is the best bang for the buck for a mono USB laser printer.

        • I used to have a HP laser printer but it died on me last week. So just decided to get a wireless one for a change.

  • If you want the Samsung ML-2165W printer today and if you'd have to pay for postage if buying from Greenboxit i see that Joyce Mayne has it for $78.32 if you have a store nearby but you might be able to knock some price off if you do a deal with the salesman. It's only a few dollars more than what you would be paying for it from Greenboxit including postage.

  • Funny that you started your description with the words "Don't how long it's going to last".

I had one of these and it didn't last 12 months but for the cheap price it just wasn't worth chasing up under warranty.

    • Lol. I meant the discounted price.

      • Yeah I know man…thats why I thought it was funny. :)

  • Joycemayne only have stores in NSW and QLD. If you need the printer today, i would recommend MSY. $14 bucks cheaper

    • Yeah but for people in regional QLD or NSW which have no MSY nearby but Joyce Mayne is there. I got my Samsung ML-2165W printer knocked down by the salesman at Joyce Mayne to $69 when i bought mine. It's either that or buying from Greenboxit and paying $75.71 delivered for people who don't live near Greenboxit so the printer from Joyce Mayne is really only less than $3 more for people in QLD or NSW especially regional locations. As i said you could do a deal with the salesman to knock some dollars off the price. It's just another choice.

      • Agreed

  • For a few bucks more ($65), I've got this one and I'm very happy with it - http://greenboxit.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=64694
I actually pricematched it with greenboxIT's price at officeworks (they sell it for $78) and got it for $60.

    • Standard yield cartridge for the brother printer is 1000 pages. While that of the samsung printer is 1500 pages.
