I'd be very surprised if anyone who comes to ozbargain would be interested in 400 dollar scotch. But i guess you never know, there's no way for anyone to find your site or store though as you just posted a picture and not a link.
Some people would find more value in a $400 bottle of great scotch than a $400 graphics card. Just saying.
I just meant if you're spending that much on scotch you probably don't care enough about saving ~10% off retail. The average price for scotch is what? $80? a better comparison would be, say a $2000 graphics card with sale price of $1800

a bargain is a bargain…just because someone has expensive tastes doesn't mean they are happy to pay anything for it, and they can love a bargain just as much as a tightarse: the two things are not mutually exclusive.
there are a number of people on here (myself included) that are interested in ~$1000 headphones/earphones. others that are into fancy B&O sound systems. and i bet that there ARE people interested in a $400 bottle of scotch.
i personally am not into $400 scotch…but find me a bargain on a Château d'Yquem sauternes (which can be upwards of $400 for a HALF bottle), and i'm interested!
(ps. i'm not saying that this is or isn't a bargain, or a good scotch…blend vs single malt is another debate entirely!)

you appear to have missed the GST on freight (of 30 quid).
the duty rate on litres of alcohol is $76.37/litre for whisky
litres of alcohol is based on the amount of alcohol in the bottle, not the amount of liquid - in this case 40% x 700ml.
Which (assuming the exporter deducts the UK VAT) all added up, it comes to a duty cleared price of ~$360 (if I am correct).

Personal preference really if people see this as a bargain.
I'd much rather spend $400 bucks on top quality single malt's than I would one one bottle of blended scotch with no age.
