Just got this in my inbox and thought I'd share it with yuzall. It's a compilation of Classical music so it may not be everyones cup of tea but hey give it a go and chuck it in one of your playlists. Who knows, you may actually like it ;)

Only 10 tracks and only 192K MP3s but it's free so 'meh'.

Enjoy.

PS, BTW & FYI: You don't need a SONOS system to play these tracks, they are just plain-Jane MP3s.

Exactly. I am not gonna complaint about 192K MP3 since it's free.

It is unlikely that 196k is any worse than higher bitrates for most use. http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?title=Transparency

    • Agreed. Higher bitrates have the placebo effect of perceived higher quality. I'm even guilty of that and I know I know better :) MOST people wouldn't be able to tell the difference but hey if I have the choice of using an MP3 or a FLAC of the exact same track of course I'll go for the FLAC version.

    • most human ears will tell VERY little difference.

the bass in higher bitrate songs sounds a hell of a lot better than lower qualities

    • All my tunes have a var. bit of around 320kbps…

  • Nice find OP. I specially like track 1.

    I love my sonos :D

  • Some very good tracks here. Thanks.

  • thanks, op. This will aid in my studying.

  • Great find.

  • Nice post, well found.
I can vouch for the recording quality of Decca and Deutsche Grammophon releases, they have been first class in classical music for decades. As mentioned previously, 192kb/s MP3s are good enough quality, any perceived difference (on pro audio equipment) would be minimal, let alone on your average stereo/ipod/headphones.
And as for the compilation - a nice selection (I have a couple of the full albums). Best of all, it is free! Enjoy

  • Wicked beats yo! I'm loving the free additions to my classical genre in itunes!
    Thanks OP
